I used a Triad stock pack on my Tikka this fall and loved it. Got used to storing the mag in there. Think it would work on the Rokstock still? I’ve always been a hinged floor plate guy before so having a place to store the mag and not loose it was priceless this fall.
Dealers are jam in packed with new machines again around here so I’m betting used prices will start going down. Hopefully new prices will go down also!
I’m fully on the Tikka bandwagon now. Have had Rems, Savages, Weatherby, and Bergara. Bought my son a Tikka Compact 7-08 and myself a Veil Wideland this spring. Sunday I shot the smallest group of my life with mine testing hand loads. Very impressed.
I get it! I can spend a year planning the “perfect” build. Buy all the parts over time after a lot of research. Then you get done and sit back and think cool now what. I think some of us just like to tinker and are always looking for slight improvements.
Well, this idea might be dead in the water. I called Scheels to see about a trade. My Wideland in 30-06 for a new one in 6.5prc. They offered half of the retail price for my 06. This trade isn't worth it if I have to put in another $700 cash to make it work.
This rifle would be for everything from antelope to elk. And general backyard plinking. My son and I really enjoy spending the afternoon in our backyard range. 600 yard max on shots.
Ok thanks for the replies.
The reason I asked this is over the past 1.5 years I have had two back operations and about a dozen injections. It’s turned me a bit recoil sensitive I guess you could say. I sold my Bergara 300wm and bought a Tikka Wideland 30-06. Figured a braked 06 would be mild...
