GPS won't be accurate enough if it has to be "exact" It'll have to be surveyed. Older GPS's like that won't work either. They changed some things up many years ago. I have an early gen GPS that will no longer function. I don't know dates and such, but safe to assume that if your 25 year old...
Ive always enjoyed reading his articles. He probably has more knowledge in his head than 95% of us. Sure he doesn't make the best content but it's better than a lot of folks. I find him entertaining, but I just walk on by a lot of his stuff depending on the topic.
Besides we SD boys need to...
I have a PH2. I don't have much experience with the waypoint other than handling it in a store. I am biased of course but you can't go wrong with the Havak. Fit and finish is great. I get an occasional 1/2 moa group if I do my job, and customer service can't be beat. Smaller company and...
From shorts and t-shirts to everything you brought with and still not enough. That said, you'll most likely be moving a lot so layer appropriately My typical day is merino socks and boots, Prana zions or KUIU attacks, no baselayer, Merino top and a kuiu guide vest. Headgear and gloves as...
My brother can get away with it and uses lightweight low top Merrells or Salomons at times. He doesn't do it every day, but has no issues when he does. I can't do it, but do try and keep my boots as light as possible. Crispi Altitudes right now. For early season non mountain hunting or...
I picked up a venture divide last year(or was it this year???)Hell, I don't remember, but got it for about that off. Anyway, picked up several things on the sale including another 2000ci Divide but mostly casual wear stuff as I am set for the hunting we do. My son likes my venture divide much...
Yep, on the biggest buck of my life. He later scored right at 160 (my brother shot him during rifle season). 12 yards. Marginal shot angle, didn't know deer anatomy well at the time. Arrow went right where I aimed and just slid under the skin. Broadhead was still in him just under the skin...
That'll just happen naturally once you start.
My former boss, who is just a couple of years older than I am is retired and his wife passed away a few years ago, so he pretty much just hikes now. He did the ECT last year (Just under 3k miles) and is currently on the Continental Divide trail...
Ive run Keens and Salomons both and they were ok till they weren't. My brother has had good luck with the Quests for two years and he puts a lot of mileage on them. I got two seasons out of each in the elk woods. I did switch to Crispi's this year and they work well for me.
Have never hunted elk with a rifle but shot my 1st deer with one in probably 15 years in Sept. Purchased with the intent of eventually using to hunt elk as well at some point.
Seekins PH2, 300wm
my fully scoped regular Seekins PH2 in 300 wm weighs less. Im not a weight weenie, but wouldn't want to be humping that at 12000 feet. I will say its kinda fun that they chambered it in 300wm.
Not any specific meals, but I prefer backpackers pantry to MH. I basically just choke them down, so I don't really go out there and sample them. With any meal, I typically rehydrate potato buds and maybe a ramen pack in the bag at the same time just for the calories, so I have never focused...
My Seekins 300wm is probably a bit heavier, but not terribly. Comes in right at 8.7 lbs or so. I shot it with a brake to start and just hated it. Loud, violent, whatever you call it. Someone here suggested I take it off as I was having some accuracy issues. Night and day difference. I...
I think the Rheotech is the most similar. I have an older Armortech i'll sell you if you are interested. 7 pin .010 pins. I switched to a Landslyde this year. I think you can get a 5 pin housing for it. All the good stuff for the Armortech and on a slider.
