Lots of discussion over the years on this topic. Couple of undisputed facts:
1. You can put the strongest/lightest/most bestest carbon fiber over a crappy core and it will still shoot like crap.
2. You can put the weakest/heaviest/most insulating carbon fiber over a quality core and it will...
I hit an easy giant node recently at 2800fps with 4831SC. ES was single digits and accuracy was sub 1/3MOA.
With either RL26 or Vit N565 and 24" you'll be much closer to 2900fps.
I'm waiting on my new reamer but last one I throated out had a COAL of 3.2" with 215's at the lands. It's out...
Its my understanding that the bergers are designed to have the nose cavity collapse upon entry and that then grenades the core hence you typically get good initial penetration with massive wound channels after that.
With the "tipped" factor, first inclination is it won't affect the nose...
If you want to run a faster that's not a problem just note it on the order comments if you can! And yes 5/8:24. I'm also adding a steel shoulder on all our muzzle threads now, have had many ask for it so it's a standard thing on our builds.

Totally agree.
One other thing I’ll add is that a low ES node doesn’t necessarily mean an accurate load. There’s a well known PRS shooter that only tests for ES on his charge weight tests and then tunes from there. You can get away with that on low pressure 6mm/6.5mm chamberings and heavy AF...
Alright guys, it aint fancy but she's true :)
Finally got the 2020 build package up on the website. Due to wanting to hit our desired price point, and in order to keep lead times down, I've limited the package caliber options to three choices. 300 WSM long throated for 215's, 7 SAUM throated...
I’d avoid the vortex, I’ve had 100% failure rate on 8 PST’s within 5 years of purchase (on my customer or friends rifles), and the majority of those caused a miss of an animal at some point.
US optics would be my choice from the few you listed. I’m still a big fan of the Bushnell elite lines...
Should be posted in a day or three. Had a cnc crash midweek last week so been a fun time getting that all torn apart and put back together. Had plans to get it posted today originally!
Mike
No kidding? I've yet to see that problem with two of my T3's. I did just google that optic and that windage turret is pretty dang long! I've ran a bushnell LRTS, Leupold Mk5, Bushnell LRHS, Athlon Midas Tac, and Ares BTR on the T3's without having that issue. I will definitely keep an eye on...
Think I can get it nailed down and on the website next week I believe!
Here’s a preview of what the builds “could” look like... just finished load development on this 7wsm at 22.5” bbl. Settled in at 2900fps with 180’s.

One of my favorite things most folks take for granted is the horizontal eject trajectory of the tikkas. Even most customs suffer from a high eject angle and if you’re scope is too far forward it dings case necks or worse causes cases to bounce back into the action port.

Copy that! Sounds exactly like that 28 Nosler rebarrel I referenced in my first post. I'd bet better than even money the extractor install fixes your issue. Please report back when it's back.

@jonboatjockey
Couple things could be going on for sure. First a few questions:
Have you chronographed this load? What's your barrel length and speed?
As alluded to above, does the serial number of your action start with "RR"? If so, they need a new bolt handle TIG'd on to bring back...
@renagde
Plan is 4-5 weeks from now... got to play and test first run this last weekend. Here’s Another little sneak peek at them ;)

Copy and pasted from my PM to you just a bit ago for anybody else wondering:
"The Tikkas are definitely a harder to cock bolt than most R700 actions/customs due to their 2 lug 60* bolt throw vs. the R700 2 lug 90*. You're traveling the same distance in 2/3rd the time so the cocking is tighter...
Waiting for the billet pieces to finish machining, but here’s a preview of what our bottom metal looks like, this was the first prototype that we had 3D printed for mockup purposes. Notice the sweeping radius and how it matches the stocks curve behind the rear tang? Also the mag is recessed into...
Oh boy, for those of you looking to upgrade to a billet bottom metal just wait till you see our prototypes.... they’re about the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen. Put the first roughed out one in a stock today and it’s [emoji91]!
