First bear was a western WA sow, a little over 5 mile pack out. All black with a brown muzzle, she taped out at 5’2”. Couldn’t be happier or more pleased with her, she’s a beaut!
Here’s a really neat young bear I got earlier this year in western WA. Jet blk head, front quarters and stripe down the back, with red-ish brown sides. Looking forward to seeing this bear get older!
Meeting is 8am-12pm PST tomorrow. Let’s have one hell of a turnout on that meeting!

Anyone willing to call in and support science based spring bear hunt would be appreciated. Registration opened this morning and will go through the 8th, meeting to attend on March 11.

This past summer was my first year bear hunting. I had many take aways, but the one that really stuck with me is being able to capitalize on their food source. Hunting western WA, finding a huntable source of black berries or huckleberries is crucial for seeing bears.
