Tricer BC tripod. Used sparingly for summer season, functions flawlessly and has no blemishes from use. Carbon fiber and works as advertised; 27 ounces. $275.
Currently does not come with a head, but I would throw in an Outdoorsmans Micro Pan head (Gen 1) and sell the whole package for $525 if...
I mean, it does sort of depend on to whom he or she is listening to on the internet, particularly if it's me 😅
Congrats on the bull. Really good example of knowing when to push and when to pull back. Giving it a night saved you a lot of headache.
Any interest in a Tricer BC? I'll probably be putting one up for sale soon. Its pretty good, but it just didn't quite jive with the rest of my "system"
yes - killed several elk with a 140 gr accubond out of a 7-08. Make sure they shoot in your rifle, but if you put them where you want them, you'll be packing meat.
Hey folks-
There was a fair amount of traffic on this back in the spring, and it looks like the hard work paid off. BLM just released the revised proposal on Solar development on their lands in the West. By and large, I think this is much improved over what was originally proposed and...
I think there's a few options for tents that won't break the bank. I purchased a Pomoly tent this spring and was planning to do a review on it once I have a few hunting days on it. So, that would probably be a viable budget option from a truck camp.
That said, I have done third season hunts in...
Good stuff @robby denning! You mention the vision impaired folks being a bit more keyed in on what to notice... I actually have found some of the best glassers I know to be colorblind (know anything about that ;)). Again, I think it comes back to being very attentive to what the eye is picking...
Same as Jason here. I heel them (got two mutts in tow now) when walking in to a spot. Stalking, I have to ride them a little harder, and carry a small lead with me in the moment of truth. I don't think they've cost me an animal yet, but it certainly adds a lot to the stalk. Adds to the memory to...
I agree with what @Jason Snyder says about his. You definitely need to be in-charge, or they'll walk all over you. If mine gets exercise, he's the chillest, hammiest dog out there. Without exercise (or mental work), he'll drive me nuts. He'll hunt about anything I can convince him is fun (birds...
A true 30" deer is rare indeed. I've seen hundreds of bucks scouting and maybe only two or three went over 30". I believe Gary Fralick's check station data out of the Wyoming Range said that only 3% of harvested deer where over 30" wide.
I think my mind goes to two different considerations. First, in any administration, it's not so much what the "plans" or policy of the administration is, it's more the who of appointments to carry out the policy of the administration. If, for instance, you take Deb Haaland and David Bernhardt...
8'11" rafters?! My God, you could host a wedding in that sucker!
As for the splice... I would trust @sndmn11 over most anyone (I hear Metallica's "Enter Sandman" whenever I read a post). Go for the over sleeve, save the welder
I saw this article the other day and thought it was worth sharing. Essentially it touts the good work that land trusts do in western Wyoming to help protect valuable habitat on private lands. If you're into it, look up your local land trust(s) and give them a helping hand...
Some will answer, others will be harder to track down. They also seem more interested in answering questions the more limited your tag is. If you have an OTC tag in western Colorado, maybe don't waste their time, but I think its always worth giving a try - he or she might get back to you...
I agree. We've been insulated from it here on the Western side of the state thus far, but the creep continues...
As a visual of what high CWD prevalence looks like... I have a WGFD colleague on the eastern side of the state that has saved all of his brass from deer he has had to put down that...
Excellent episode! I really appreciated the experiences from NW CO. Cool to hear that their deer wind up along river corridors when winters get burly. Underscores how important habitat management along those riparian areas can be critical as an "insurance plan" in big winter years.
I...
