I live in Palmer, I am planning on selling my house. And getting something bigger around Palmer. Wasilla has too many sketch areas and Palmer still has a small town feel with better views in more places. I wouldn't consider moving into the Muni.

Posting this late but the sale is still going on so if you are in the area. You still can check it out. The NOLS sale is going on today at the NOLS campus in Palmer. I just got home from it. Scored a Hilleberg Keron 4 for $200 and a Black Diamond Megamid with pole and bugnet for $75.

The mini is slow and I have had issues with two minis cracking and leaking at the place where the body meets the endcap.

It should go without saying but... make sure you at least have some idea how to use your gear.
So my church's district (all the denominations churches in Alaska) have a teen hike of Resurrection trail on the Kenai peninsula. Its roughly 39 miles dedicated trail with no road access except the...
Right now I am thinking about including a wilderness medical aspect along with basic wilderness survival fire starting etc. Followed by a multi day trip. Our denomination takes teens on a 6 day hike on Resurrection trail so I am leaning towards the trip going somewhere else.

So I work construction full-time and two years ago I became the part time youth pastor for our church. Our denomination has a camp in Big Lake and I was talking to the new director and he says that someone had told him that I was into doing all types of outdoor stuff. I told him I was and he...
My next bike will be a Fatback Corvus. Full fat but with a second 27.5+ wheelset. Its carbon and designed for bikepacking. My current bike is a 9zero7 whiteout also full fat with a spare 27.5+ wheelset but is aluminum. I have taken it all types of places to include from the stop sign in...
I should have added smileys...:D
I'm calm, I was just trying to add a suggestion for a bike in a bike thread and you pointed out there wasn't a need. Its a common misconception that they should only be used in those conditions, they are also optimal for riding on sand if you go to a beach and...
The only thing I would need in North Carolina...is a airplane ticket home.
I didn't know it was a need based thread.
Didn't you write this:
"Any other bikers want a dedicated thread to this most excellent lung buster?"
A fat bike inflated properly will go over roots and rocks without issue or...
I throw my 2 cents in. Go fat. Winter riding you are covered in summer you can go everywhere as well. It is a little more effort but its exercise right? With a fat bike you can get different wheel sets. I have a 26 inch full fat wheel set that has studded 4.8 inch tires on it. For the summer...
I noticed that as well, it showed up in my Facebook newsfeed. The Hexpeak or Octopeak are on my list now I like the addition of the stove jack kinda blah on the snowskirt not sure about paying over 50% more on the price of the tent for the addition of both.

I had both emailed and messaged on Facebook and was told they aren't sold separately. I figure if they change their mind it'll be reflected on their website. In the mean time there are different options out there.

Thank you for the shelter, like I said I was about an hour away from purchasing a new solomid when I saw yours for sale. Now to find the time to get it out and set it up.
So I am thinking about replacing my rangefinder (Simmons lrf600) I can get a used Kilo 1250 for @$175. I was wondering what the consensus is. Most reviews seem to be either on the 850 or the 2xxx models.

Ok, thanks I thought it was something specific. Almost all of the metal strip that long usually have a bend to them and wouldn't be good for straight cuts.
