Best bear defense ammo? & New Hornady Backcountry Defense/DGH?

Two different camps: 1). Penetration above all else. This will mean hard cast flat nose (with sort of the new Hornady DGH). 2). Sufficient penetration (14-18”) to reach the CNS, with a slightly wider wound. Both are viable, and I am comfortable with both. The main drawback to the...

.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

I am not an expert. However, while the 77gr TMK has shown to upset below 1,800fps- I would still set that as the lower limit for full upset.

Montana Rifle Co, Shoot2Hunt, and Rokslide Rifle

I can answer these. No, they will be proofed with common factory ammo. (Edit) or an extremely common load that will stated what it is. MRC is not a custom shop, and that’s not realistic anyways. This is a factory, off the shelf rifle; the point isn’t that each person gets to get every wish...

Most accurate best value 6.5 Creedmoor

Emotions do not tend to cloud reality for me. RA’s were what they were when $250- much like Savage/Stevens. At their present cost, they are simply a cheaply made action and trigger with a poorly designed, dressed up cheap stock, that costs too much. On the flip side- the Sauer 100 is an...

Have you looked at the Sauer 100? They are $569 a couple of places, and are objectively very good rifles. A way better choice on every front than a Ruger American.

Tikka 300WSM w/ 1-11 Twist and Heavy Bullets

Yes, that’s fine. The 1-11” twist will stabilize the 215gr Berger.

Yes, people that shoot 77gr TMK’s and have cream and sugar in their coffee love themselves

Yes. Its not that Starbucks is “good”, it’s that everything else on the road sucks. I prefer quality French press above all else, though good Turkish coffee, pour overs, etc etc, are all fine choices. The key is that it is coffee- that means real cream and sugar. Black “coffee” isn’t coffee-...

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

Yes- proven hundreds of times in the threads you won’t read, and shown in the picture above going through both “shoulders”.

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?

What angle do you believe can not be taken effectively with .224 and .243 good bullets? There is a difference between stupidity and ignorance. I do not believe you are stupid, however you do seem to desire willfull ignorance. There are two very large threads that show any angle you can...
