Check the rules for the HMA. Some do not allow UTV/ATV or even in possession (trailer/back of the truck) while on the HMA. If they do allow it, it probably needs to be shown on the access permit as your secondary vehicle.
I had the same internal conversation when I was choosing between the 2 bags. I went with 4000 because I like the horseshoe zipper. The side zip on the 5500 probably makes the differences minute, but it is nice to be able to lay open the entire bag with the 4000. The horseshoe zipper also...
Yeah, I do something similar when I know I'm not going to use them for a while. When I want to use them on and off through a day or forget to tuck them away, they sometimes get hung up on things. It's not enough of an issue to even be concerned about 99% of the time.
I just used my MBS for 6 days in the mountains. Love it. Works just as advertised. I use it mostly on the walk in and out but wouldn't be hard to get to my bow if needed unexpectedly. I hook to each end of my riser and rides right at pack belt height. Nice place to rest left hand while...
Talk to Seek Outside. My frame wore through the sleeves on my original revolution panel, so they sent me rubber caps to go over the frame tubing. Solved the issue. This was on an original frame (larger diameter tubing).
I killed a ram in area 3 in 2011. There was an outfitter camp in the same drainage as us at the time. Not sure if it was Colby's or not. There were plenty of sheep in there. Good luck!
I just received my Cloud 20 yesterday. Very lightweight. Have not had a chance to sleep in it yet, but I'm excited to used it. The no zipper design is great in warm weather. Curious how it will perform in cooler temperatures. I have their frontcountry bed, and the footbox vent is great in...
You should see plenty of bucks. Good genetics in this area of the state. If you are patient, you should be able to find a good buck. The northern half of the unit is almost all BLM. The southern half is all checkerboard. You may have some access if there is a county road through some of the...
If the goal is to elk hunt more, then moving to Wyoming makes a lot of sense. Living in state, you can hunt every year and learn the units more easily (time wise and financially speaking). Plenty of new country to explore in Wyoming. But if you would rather pay higher non-resident fees and...
I live in Laramie. As far as the wind and the winters are concerned, it's no worse than many of the other areas of the state. I will agree that the Sheridan area and Big Horn basin don't see quite as much wind as we do, but Casper, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Gillette are pretty windy and cold in...
I should add that my first pack was an Eberlestock Just One with the batwings. I loved that design but not the suspension of the Eberlestock. The Brooks is a much more comfortable and lighter version of the Just One.
You can switch bags with the Brooks or unaweep or back to the Revo panel...
I've been using either a Kuiu 1850 or Ultra 3000 attached to the Revo panel. I like the organization of the 1850, but it is not quite big enough for more than day hunting. I used it for an overnight with camp in a dry bag in the load shelf. I used the 3000 with my camp stuff in a dry bag in...
