@elkhuntrr75 Surpised I missed this earlier in year to invite you to the RMBS Meet & Greet. As we discussed when I met you scouting yesterday, hit me up for info that may be helpful. Sent a DM with my contact info.
Holy cow. Should not be…but amazed the guys not putting glass to work. Missing out on seeing a lot whether you know it or not. The weight of a pair of binos is never a “need to save weight” item to cut out. Could not imagine not having good glass on me every minute of a hunt, timber or open...
"I plan on hunting the same way I do for archery as that is all I know."
Well, if that archery approach did not include a ton of glassing versus simply chasing bugles, time to alter the approach and glass A LOT as there is a good chance of less bugling going on.
Make the MOST of the internship and don't be that weasel looking for special advantages/treatment. Be the intern that is thinking how he can benefit the outfit he is working for and long-term career opportunity.
Bears are a dime a dozen in most places. Find another spot or walk like everyone else.
Never heard of Pit Bull brand tires. That is more than enough reason for me to never consider them. If they are not commonly sitting on display at tire stores I am not risking getting stuck without replacement tire option in the middle of a hunt.
Always fun to decoy them. Have arrowed lope with the hat and shirt, pop up decoys, and really like the bow mounted decoy but not successful with that one my one trip with it but expect it to work best overall for spot and stalk.
Stalking in on antelope is a blast. Always a ton of action.
Why heck, did you really look at your maps? Ruby lakes are above 11000 and the country around goes a lot higher so not sure what you are looking at. Have seen a few of that outfitters usual drop camps around there, they are plenty high. I would sure not stay at his ruby lake main camp to hunt...
I very much like the way my RF holder mounts with velcro to under side of my chest mount bino harness.
Do not like everything about my kuiu harness but the way the RF mounts is perfect to me. Totally out of the way and fast access when bowhunting with a minimum of movement.

You started a landslide of diverse opinions, some sound and based on facts and experience and some produced by fanboys of vendor "x" or "y" as that is all they have to compare from or they just like pumping that brand. Also, this is a regular topic and has been 'litigated' to death on various...
