I’ve been wearing my yukon this fall and winter and either I’ve gotten more used to the cuffs, or they’re less grippy. I feel like they’re easier to get in and out of. Still would prefer a standard cuff though.
Sitka used to make a brushed fleece exterior rain gear that was probably the most quiet but heavy and took longer to dry out. In my experience the kuiu yukon and chugach are probably the most quiet. First Lite is also decent for noise.
I haven't worn the M5, but my 2 cents on the Kutana Stormshell is that they are very durable. I find the elastic waist and belt system very comfortable wearing over other layers. They keep you dry and I haven't noticed them wetting out. I have worn my Kutana pants brush busting and walking...
I’m really liking the Kuiu Yukon TR with one exception the rubber cuffs not so much. I get why they’re there to not allow water to run up the cuff, but I just find they’re unnecessary much of the time. Anyone successfully cut them out?
Used Kuiu Chugach NX Rain Jacket size Large Gunmetal
Jacket is in good working condition always keeps me dry. I’m selling because I’ve gained weight and need to bump up to XL.
See pics for some light wear on the cuff closure and some wear marks/stains.
