Sounds interesting, do you happen to know the specs? 18" or 20" barrel? Short LOP?
I had a 700 ADL in 358 for a short while, 18", handy little package, original owner ended up with it again.
Curious to hear reports from anyone with one.
Ok, my wire transfer is on hold until I get the following, also it's a pain in the keester. It may be my bank, but I doubt it.
I need foundation's address, contact, swift code, bank's corporate address.
Either make it a hassle free online transaction or give me an address to mail a personal check.
Anyone with a X-Bolt that has this stock, they put it on several versions, the Western Hunter recently.
Wanting to see exactly what it is, what it weighs, thoughts?
Thanks
It's a Portugal produced rifle, nothing wrong with that.
9lbs 7oz is heavy, you might get a 1/2lb off with a smaller contour.
Looking forward to seeing the finished project
Is it a short action?
What about a Target Max Competition Lite with the ARCA Swiss rail, lop spacers and has 2 QD sling swivels on the left side? Pictures if you are interested.
I am patiently waiting for them to release that stock, same for the X-Bolt stocks. I have a LA 670 bare action that I want to build off of. The problem I see is, FNs support of the model 70 series. With the new XPR gaining traction and people gravitating towards cheaper rifles, cheaper rifles...
I guess you missed the part about it having a Timney, that wasn't an upgrade. The stock is going to be heavy, it's a B&C and it's a later production rifle, it's hit or miss as well. A properly built 700 or a clone is money ahead. The availability of aftermarket parts alone would sway me.
While...
There is nothing wrong with building off of a Winchester action, it's just going to be different and could be more expensive in certain instances.
Is this a New Haven or South Carolina gun?
I would talk to your dad about trading towards a clone or 700 action and build from there. You'll be...
Okay, more pictures and information. I received a text asking about swapping or ordering the AICS bottom metal onto a standard LR X-Bolt.
You cannot convert a standard rotary magazine action to the AICS, at least not without a modification to your action
Notice the machined cuts, these...
So, I had been wondering what exactly was different about the X-Bolt Target rifles versus the hunter or Long Range versions. I couldn't find what I wanted and there wasn't one locally, so I ordered one.
Here's what I know about this specific model
Browning X-Bolt Target Max Competition Lite...
I have a 6.2lb X-Bolt with sporter contour barrel and cheap flexible plastic stock, I would buy one of those NextGen Ultra Carbon Hunter VG stocks in a heartbeat if it was available. Even better if you could make one for the Browning X-Bolt SSA 223/204 action that mimics the Howa Mini VG stock...
A level is an aid, a plumb line thru the optic parallel with the vertical crosshair and the center of the bore aligns them perfectly, unless you are cross-eyed, it's hard to foul up.
Binderless AICS mags may require modifications to the action to feed if you like really long pointy bullets. IIRC,there's like .090" difference between the binder version and binderless version.
Wranglers look like a $1 whore on nickel night after several wearings, pill all around the pockets, come unstitched, especially the crotch area.
Magellan look good and wear good, but if you are skinny with long legs, you look like you got hand me downs, the seat and waist are not proportional...
