    Backcountry rifle hunters, ammo quantity?

I was packed in this week in a remote part of Wyoming and had 4 in the gun, a spare mag of 3 and an extra 4 so 11 rounds total and that seems pretty reasonable and that’s my usual round count for back country pack in hunts. Ya things can go sideways but there’s a point you have to slow down...

Gun for Elk Hunting in Thick Timber

I mostly carry a Savage Model 99 in .300 Savage with a 1.5-6 scope for timber. Since getting a suppressor that’s changed some since that thing is life changing… I’m pretty comfortable with the 99 to 300 which covers most timber hunts interspersed with meadows…

Vote no on prop 127, Durango newspaper add.

Anybody ever regretted using Iodine tablets for water purification?

I use the iodine a lot and have never had any issues. I filter and use iodine which I know is redundant but I don’t want to take any risks with getting sick when I’m way in the gnar. No side effects in probably 30 years of using iodine pretty regularly. Idk about using them as a primary but you...

    Anyone Ordered From Atlasworxs

I ordered bottom metal in about July? Had it in less than three weeks so not too bad. If you need specifics I can probably find my tracking number. I didn’t think the wait was too bad.

Best Underwear - Not the thermal kind

Give the Smartwool boxers a shot. Ive had really good luck with no bunching and they don’t get clammy. Plus they are on sale pretty regularly for around 15 bucks. I tried some Lululemon and wanted to like them but if you’re doing multi day trips I didn’t find they worked as well…I’ll leave it...

    Advice for Solo hunts

Lots of great ideas presented already. A good book that will get you through your trip is huge. Either Kindle or old school pages helps fall asleep or pass a day rained or snowed in the tent or down time during the day…Michener’s Centennial or any of Allan Eckert’s books are recommended.
