I have been interested in monos and tested them out but didn't get good accuracy so I abandoned it. f I am going to shoot monos I think what I will try next is bullets meant to have the front fragment and the back tumble. They are already making bullets to do what you need. Look at the...
I don’t understand why they don’t have an 8x stabilized yet. Would be so good for tearing up areas quick without a tripod. I do love how quickly the stabilized allows me to scan an area. The lack of FOV just kills me on the 10s.
All year I have been carrying the 12x42 NL in my pack in addition to. Good handholding bino which has been either the sig stabilized 10x Kilo 10k. I have been really liking this setup although redundant because the NLs are just so good off the tripod. I feel like these new 14s would be much...
I am using the 10x image stabilized binos and have loved them this year but will be leaving them at home for my last hunt. They truly are incredible and I spotted a lot of game this year with them but the small FOV and lack of rangefinder are a big trade off. Once then can give a better FOV to...
Living in NV where just getting ANY tag is celebrated I’m very jealous of the guys who can just go home and blast a bunch of whitetail does to fill the freezer. So for me my standards vary greatly on the status of my freezer since we do not buy meat and only eat what I shoot or catch. I’ve...
Had a great tag in NM and saw tons of elk but not the quality I was hoping. Still very happy to take this guy home and even more grateful for horses. He wasn’t the biggest I saw but there wasn’t anything so big that I was committed to them. So when I found this guy in one the nastiest places in...
Glad you had a great trip. That rock is nasty out here. I had my dog tear his pads up really bad one when mountain biking and now I know when to be really careful.
Be careful grabbing a female bag as it may be smaller in the shoulders which could be very uncomfortable.
I’m 5’7” and love using short bags when it’s an option.
You want your bag as tight fitting as is comfortable.
Awesome I’ll be ordering a 6 PRC or 25 PRC from them soon. How did you decide on the taperless over light hybrid?
I’m very curious what your final weight ends up at to see what the fluting saves you.
I have a preferred on my Tikka PRS gun and it shoots great about 0.5 MOA. I wouldn’t think twice about ordering another.
As an additional example button rifling can be great. Everybody loves carbon six including myself and those are also button rifles. Mine is another tikka prefit in 300 WSM...
Depends on your taste I suppose. I don’t like ultralight guns but I like to be able to run a little heavier scope and a suppressor and come out between 8 and 9 pounds. I am typing this from camp right now and I have a 12 pound rifle with me because I have an heavy recoiling rifle, expect long...
Tikka, browning, seekins, weatherby. Those are the only brands I would be considering for factory rifles.
Remember more money does not mean better. On tikka it’s very easy to get aftermarket stocks so it’s a great option.
They aren’t built like us. They don’t care that they stole it. I stole a lollipop as a little kid and felt so bad about it I couldn’t ever imagine stealing anything again.
There’s so many variables though. The question is sort of worded backwards if you are looking for a numerical answer. The hide will stretch as much as it can depending on the strength and elasticity of the hide as well and the strength and elasticity of the fascia.
The hide does not have to...
