    Rifle doesn’t open until the Saturday before thanksgiving. Muzzleloader opens 2 weeks before rifle does. Bow season opens the fourth Saturday in September and theres a 3 day hunt in August. Elk is a draw hunt.

    It can hurt. Make sure you use bore guides and a good rod. I’d guess more barrels are ruined by the break in process than helped over crappy cleaning practices and supplies.

    You could take 2 rifles, both from the same builder with the same components, do a break in and not do a break in and you’d never tell the difference.

    I don’t remember what powder I used, but I hit 3450 with a 100gr nbt. I don’t remember if it was imr4955, h4831, or a Reloder powder.

    Whatever distance you’re sighted in at doesn’t change with the magnification. What does change is if you a holdover type scope. This is also only true if it’s a SFP, and not ffp. So your initial zero is fine, but the holdovers change as you zoom in and out

    Run your bolt faster. It’s hitting as you eject it. It’ll size out and doesn’t really matter in the end.

    I use h4198. In that specific gun, 65gr is max, but if you have a load you like I’d roll with it. I miss my conversions.
