I didnt mean it had to be your last or only gun. I just curious what your “my alarm clock didn’t go off” and have to sprint out the door. What rifle are you grabbing. No thinking just going. Which are you trusting to do work?
I understand there is usually a lot more thought put into it.
So if I buy a $40 box of ammo will I get $80 back?
I like copper but I’ll make money.
Although I’m not a licensed hunter with an Alaska mailing address. Seems kinda scammy to me.
I love the Americans and own 4 including a 308. But I love my tikka 30-06 more. Soon to have a 243 as well. I have a ruger American ranch in 7.62x39 that my favorite tho. 9 out of 10 times that the one I grab. And now it’s suppressed.
My state has a shotgun zone but doesn’t allow straight walls yet. When then 350legend was released I immediately built a AR in it with the hopes MN would allow them in the future. If they don’t it’s still a great cartridge in the woods a hunt.
Haven’t taken any thing with it yet and have been...
@jeffpenland123 with the bullets you’ve used with poor blood trails are you get exit holes? I’d be using something like the Barnes 80TTSX or 85TSX. They should penetrate all the way through. That’s what I’ll start with once I pick up my tikka.
Or start trying to take out both shoulders so they...
Based on the question asked for coyote to moose I’d pick the 6.8western or the 280ai.
But if you truely mean a all around deer cartridge I’d be picking the 7mm08.
I believe my wife’s ruger American has a 22” barrel. So you may be able to get close. She shoots 1.5-2” group at 100yds with this load. I can get it down to .75”-1”.
I’d have made the same choice. Ditch the shotgun. Rifles in my experience are more accurate and easier on the shoulder. That’s why I built a 350Legend AR just in case Minnesota one day allows straight walls in the shotgun zone.
What bullet are you running in the legend?
That’s awesome paint or dip? job on that tikka. A 7mm08 tikka has been on my want list for along time. And 280ai has been on my build list.
With the 2024 rifle deer season around the corner and I’m unusually excited for it this year.
I’m curious what your rifle/cartridge combo of choice for hitting the woods?
Mine is a Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39. Shooting a 123gr Barnes TSX at 2500fps. It’s the one rifle that I know is...
