I’m curious. Did your Christensen Arms group out of the box?
I’ve seen some bad publicity about them being over priced junk but i kind of wanted to see the numbers.
You pulled the rifle out of the box, slapped a scope on and torqued everything down. Did/does it group?
So if I understand the articles correctly. Now that @Peterson Cartridge Co makes the 300 and 270wsm then only logical next cartridge would be the 6.8western?
I hear ya. Scopes add bulk. My young eyes struggle seeing the front sight for years now. So I’m forced to scopes. That vortex would work great on a muzzleloader.
I had the same problem with my sights. Barely shot dinner plate groups at 100yds. Threw a scope on when MN legalized it and groups came down to 2-2.5”.
As long as you practice and you are confident I see no reason why not to pull the trigger.
I’ve toyed with the idea of practicing out of my saddle at the range.
Good morning all,
Has anyone in here used both the barnes 85tsx and the 80ttsx with a 243 or similar 6mm cartridge on game?
Was there a big difference is performance between two.
My shoots are less than 100yds so no real need for long range.
I’ve pretty much switched all my rifles over to monos. For the ones I haven’t I either haven’t had time, money or they are not hunting rifles. If monos are going out of style I should be able to start finding them cheaper.
I agree with what you’ve said here. There definitely seems to have been...
I recently bought my wife a tikka 243 compact, most because I inherited my grandfather’s reloading everything. He was an avid 243 and 6mm rem hunter so I have a lot of different .243 bullets. There are as a fresh box of 95gr partitions and of course I immediately found a pretty spicy and...
I sorry I meant the 6-284. That’s impressive. Should be able to push the coppers fast enough.
How’s brass situation for the 6-284?
I have a tikka donor rifle that I’m struggling to decide what to rechamber/rebarrel it in. It’s currently a brand new 243. Also I’m not sure what I want this...
My wife shot this doe today. It was steep shot and only 75yds. She hit low but I like what a see with the 7mm08 and the 1200ttsx at 3150fps. Especially the exit. I’m still in the tree so I haven’t seen it in person but im happy. Just aim a little higher in those steep shots.
I’ve never carried a rifle on a pack, because I’ve never hiked far enough to need to.
So If the rifle is on your pack how quickly can you deploy the rifle? Would racking the bolt really slow you down enough?
