Good to know. I’m going to give the 80gr a try and see what happens. I don’t see this rifle shooting past 200yds on game in my part of the state. If it does let shoot I’ll make it a varmint rifle or spin on a new barrel.
Interesting didn’t know this existed. So if a bullet were marginally stable what would I expect to see? Keyholing at 25yds or weird things are longer ranges?
calculators I’ve tried using ask for the bullet length and most manufacturers don’t list that in the specs. So without the bullet in hand how do you use the calculator accurately. Edit: more list lengths then I thought.
Barnes’s 80gr 243win load is rated to 1:10 and faster. They seem to be the...
So I picked up a compact 243 new for a steal. Such a steal my wife also picked up the last one. What’s everyone’s thoughts on 80ish weight coppers? 1:10s I think.
Interesting. There is #1 mark 3 mags and #4 mark 1 mags. I don’t think I was able to do that with mine, but it’s been years since I owned that rifle. I think his is a #1.
The enfield mags can be disassembled but it requires the feed ears to be bent straight and from my experience with the one I had once you find the sweet spot for those ears you don’t mess with. Mine didn’t feed worth a dang after I disassembled it and never found the sweet spot again. Got rid of...
I spoke with the Ontario fish and game and the Mountes now and but said when hunting big game the mag can only hold 5. I did not inquire whether this was a resident vs nonresident thing.
I’ve got my 7.62x39 throwing 123gr Barnes TSX at 2450fps and my wife’s 308 and 130gr TTSXs at 3150. Working on my wife’s 7mm08 with both 139 LRX and 120ttsx.
Oops didn’t see the gen2 part o well.
So my father-in-law was invited on an Ontario moose hunt and well he is one rifle kinda guy and that rifle is a Lee Enfield in 303 Brit which has a 10rd mag.
It’s been his deer rifle for 40+ years and he is very proficient with it. He really wants to take it. I’m struggling to find an answer...
Good morning all,
Tikka is now offering faster twists is many of their rifles. How do you know if the rifle you are about to buy is one of those fast twists?
Tikka/sako seems to not want people contacting them and beretta as normal is a joke.
