    I don’t think I’d waste anymore on ammo. I’d contact bartlien and tell them your 5.5k rifle they built doesn’t shoot or hold zero. Let them figure it out.

    What action is it built on? It should hold zero for a few miles a road unless you are chaining it to the back and dragging it.

    i’m doubtful that bolt would have closed. But if it would and you’d sent it? This is just a guess but I think the bullet would have left the barrel and maybe the case would have became stuck. On another note. Is the 300RUM so much more impressive then the other 30 magnum that is worth...

    I working in a load of my 30-30 with 140gr monoflexs and haven’t tried the Barnes 150gr yet. Here a ballistic gel test of the Barnes.

    When to quit?

    Your story sounds a lot like the northern 2/3s of Minnesota and my story, except your seeing deer to wound or miss. I think about quitting but then I think about what I’d do if I didn’t hunt. I draw alot of blanks thinking about it. So I keep doing it.

    What public land in a state/ area would you like to hunt?

    Been in the stand 6 days. I use a saddle so sat multiple spots. I’d like to hunt the nearest area that actually has deer. 6 days one doe spotted. Man the DNR and the wolves have this state messed up. Sorry for the frustrated venting.

    I butcher my own game but if I did take it to a processor I wouldn’t tip. Thats what the fee I paid is for.
