I picked a used one up a few months ago. It’s a great little scope. Optics are good (but not excellent) and the scope is bullet proof. Turrets are a little mushy but they’ll dial repeatably. Mine has been on a 6 Creed but will be switching over to my muzzleloader soon.
That Meopta S2 is stunning. It’ll beat the S series Swaro’s that I’ve looked through and give the X series a serious run for their money.
The 30-60x is the eyepiece I use. It has a massive FOV at 30x which makes spotting through it super easy. I’ve never seen the need for 70x as it’s rare that...
My Swaro’s went for a nice roll down the mountain and had the lenses absolutely destroyed. Swaro fixed them but it cost me a little over $100. I was completely fine paying the fee because it was MY fault that the damage had occurred.
Vortex would have replaced the binos for free, but the Vortex...
You are in the long range hunting forum. 680 on an elk is hardly difficult with today's equipment and an experienced marksman in a stable shooting position.
I agree with Avery, you shoot enough animals you'll eventually get a bullet to fail but the 215 Berger has TONS of documented kills with...
I've been required to put my carry on in the "gage" right at the gate to prove it was small enough. I personally wouldn't chance taking something bigger than the envelope listed.
They “didn’t do their part” on those shots.
I literally watched a dude at the range shoot almost a 1.5 moa 5-shot group and then shoot a smoking .25 moa 3-shot group right after it. He takes a picture of the good group and posts to social media about how he loves his rifle that shoots 1/4 moa...
Also, if you're using a Magnetospeed or Labradar I wouldn't be adjusting velocities I would verify all other parameters are correct, and then start tweaking BC.
Density altitude still needs temperature to be entered manually into the calculator to accurately calculate the Mach number. Absolute/Station pressure also need the temperature entered as well so you can use either DA or Station pressure but just make sure to also enter your temperature with both.
The only thing I ever worry about with the 2400ABS is if the temperature is correct. It takes a while to acclimate but you can easily change the temperature yourself in the app.
Also take a screen shot of the HUD in the app to be able to show your shot data. It makes for fun memories later.
I own two pairs of first gen ELs (8x32 and 10x32) and I feel the same way about them every time I use them. I love them more than I should for 10-15 year old binos.
Best money I think I've ever spent for long range hunting. It helped me kill my elk on a first round hit at 965 yards and lined up perfect on my friend's elk at 1125 yards just a few minutes later. It's proven itself time and time again on rock chucks and also helped me kill a coyote at 600...
1. Kifaru Sawtooth- I'll never go without this in my available kit ever again
2. Lathrop And Sons Footbeds- I didn't even realize I had some hot spots with my old foot beds until I had zero with these
3. Pintler Bag- Not really big enough to hunt multiple days comfortably but an absolutely...
I run the 30-60xWA and LOVE IT! However, I sometimes wonder if the 20X would be better in first/last light due to the larger exit pupil. Once there is any sort of decent lighting, I'd never want anything other than the WA eyepiece because it is an absolutely stunning and vast image.
I got the XC525C from Cameralandny and I like the legs but the head is subpar compared to my Sirui. Overall I’m happy with it but I’ll probably swap heads with my Sirui for backcountry use.
