All the way in for me, it lets me get the full FOV without touching the bino and also helps reduce the chance of fogging up the ocular lenses.
I love looking at new binos in the store and the sales rep will twist the cups all the way up and then hand them to me; I then twist them all the way...
Owning them for a season and then selling them at a slight loss to put the money into something else isn't uncommon at all. It's a great way to pick up some great glass at some cost savings to the second owner.
Older NICE Mystery Ranch frame (medium) with the lift kit and a Marshal bag plus a Pintler bag. The Marshal has a few soot and blood stains but no major holes or tears. The Pintler bag looks essentially new and has only a few days in the field. This was a great combo for me but I’ve migrated to...
I love the feel of the binos in my hand and I always glass with the eyecups down so I haven't been bugged by any interface issues. My 12x42 suffer from lots of black outs when using them. This is 100% a grip that goes away when I've looked through the 10x42 and I'm assuming it's just due to a...
I have 8x32 EL, 10x32 EL, 12x42 NL Pure and 15x56 SLC HD.
The 12x NL is a beautiful optic with razor sharp resolution and amazing color rendition. FOV is quite large for a 12x but the optic suffers from “black outs” when I hand hold them. I’m assuming this is due to a relatively small exit...
I ran my 12x next to my 15x a little bit this year and if you're not packing a spotter I think the 15x are still a better option over a 12x. Even at 400 yards it was impressive the difference in how easily I could see certain features in the 15x compared to the 12x.
I have 8x32 El, 10x32 EL, 12x42 NL Pure, and 15x56 SLC HD. My primary binos for years have been the 8x32 as I really like the FOV and they're super easy to hand hold. I LOVE the 15x and they are truly amazing for long range observation but they suck to pack and they won't replace my spotting...
I spent some time this weekend looking through 15x56 SLC HD, 12x42 NL Pure, 10x42 NL Pure, and first gen 8x32 EL.
For stationary long range glassing close to the truck I think the 15x56 might still get the nod but both sets of NL Pure are nothing short of stunning. My 8x32 EL were my favorite...
I think any of the SLC HD are great but the previous versions of the SLC don't justify the price tag in my mind.
Any generation of EL's are awesome and the first generation (pre field flatteners) can often be found for under $1k. In my mind a used first gen EL is one of the best values in...
