    Oddly enough mine don't crack at the cuticle. It's always high use areas, like if you pinch something between your thumb and finger. It will form a long split there. I would like to try something with lanolin but most of the products made from it have something else undesirable in it like paraffin.

    I was actually thinking about wearing a pair of leather driver style gloves which I have treated with obenaufs, with a liberal amount of some sort of sauve or beeswax type product or something while actually hunting.

    This is what I'm doing, filling the coolers full of 5.3 gallon cubes of good filtered drinking water from my house to keep from freezing.
