I have one goat that I got gifted lol He's a Kiko/Boer cross and the guy is a brute. By far the strongest and beefiest goat I have. The only problem is he was not raised to be a packer so I am having to try and leash train a 250 pound goat. It's been a wild experience but he's coming along.
It also depends on where you get the goat from. Just like dogs a goat can vary some from breeder to breeder. I would look for something in between smaller/agile and large/workhorse. Or get a few of each to have a diverse pack string.
That's tough, one of my lamancha crosses is huge and is a beast on the trail. kind of a slow and steady. My 2 ober crosses are smaller but way more nimble and agile. It's hard to pick but I do wish I had a few more goats that were bigger like my Lamancha cross if I had to choose.
I would like to note that the bottom picture was taken a year ago and one of the first projects I did. My sewing has improved so much since than :ROFLMAO:
I decided to make my own thread of gear I have made, am making and for future creations. I am a goat packer so I make a lot of stuff geared towards that.
Sorry you're right, I must have got this mixed up. I thought this was a post about asking for opinions about a whisker biscuit. I didn't mean to hit a nerve. I was not referring to indoor archers, show me an example of any high level bowhunter/outdoor/3D archer who consistently kills animals...
Not sure what your budget is, but I got a Sailrite Ultra feed. I love it, I have put almost 2 spools of 1200 yards of thread through it now on various projects. The only thing is does struggle and takes some finesse with the super light fabrics like silpoly.
I am having the same contemplation. I have pack goats and want something a little more sturdy than your typical silpoly teepee. I like the Go-Tents price for sure but the WRTL tent is definitely designed better. Also it's way lighter which I get is where a lot of the price comes from. There's...
