I think we mostly agree Mike. I just don't want newer riders thinking they HAVE to step up to a larger bike to be able to see the rewards of a bike while hunting.
I agree the larger bikes allow more technical riding while hunting...IF a person is experienced enough to take advantage of the...
RIFLE HAS SOLD
I have for sale a very lightly used CA Ridgeline in 30 Nosler. It’s had approximately 100 rounds down the barrel, and shoots 200 grain factory Accubonds into knots.
Looks and functions fantastic. Just don’t have a need for it right now. Not particularly interested in any...
If you’ve ridden a bit, then a Beta X-trainer is simply awesome for a backcountry hunting bike. Do a little research, and I think you’ll come away impressed.

Not sure if a Proof barrel is "better" than a Seekins. If my life depending on picking one to shoot accurately, there are very, very few that are "better" than Seekins for accuracy. My experience indicates that Proof isn't one of them.
I don't have any disdain for Proof, but Seekins seems to be...
IDFG set's tag limits. Presumably the numbers support someone hunting with that tag.
Should the state NOT collect the revenue for selling leftover tags? What difference does it make who buys the tag?
We'll have to agree to disagree. I'm 240 and was riding out 90 pounds of elk quarters just fine last fall. A $15 front sprocket swap gives you all the "power" you need for hunting.
My work bikes are KTM 300 EXCs and Beta X-trainers and while I strongly prefer both for riding trails, a CRF250f...
More important than being "too low" is the fact that TWs are piggy with a chitty suspension by comparison. Neither of those things are conducive to trail riding.
The seat height on the CRF250F/TTR230/KLX230 are all pretty low in their own right, which helps new riders keep from crashing quite...
Can we all at LEAST agree this is fooking hilarious?
If we can't find common ground in this brilliance, we are surely doomed in this attempted, internet Kumbaya.
I know. I already said as much in my first post about this....
My point is that residents (largely) don't hate non-residents...which is what many non-residents seem to believe. I'm trying to point out that is just a reflection of the human condition whereby NONE of wants to "share" our...
I'm nice to the people I run into as well. Nobody is arguing that. It's a red-herring discussion topic. That's not the issue.
What I'm saying is that if you're honest with yourself (and the rest of us), you'll admit it's preferable to not have to have share that theoretical wallow you...
Sweet...then I assume you'll have no problem sharing your waypoints with everyone here since you could care less if others share it with you.
Ninja please.
What's not to understand? Western game in particular is a finite resource with seemingly unlimited demand. I don't hate NRs at all. I've hosted a few of them on hunts here in Idaho. Having said that, I'd rather not share the woods of Idaho with most of you.
I have to work 10X harder than I did...
Seekins will replace the barrel FOR you for $500....and not a cheap barrel either.
I like Tikka's a lot, but I'm struggling to see how this "advantage" goes to Tikka.
To the OP...no bad choices here. You've narrowed it down to the two "best" imho.

There isn’t a more reliable 3” semi-auto made than a Franchi Affinity imho…and I’ve shot them all for 30+ years in some pretty miserable conditions.
