Hey Steve how tall are you and what size frame does the KIUI website recommend?
I'm asking this as starting point so that I am able to help further after knowing that information.
So is it a bottomless bag as the sleeping pad fits inside the sleeve? Or does the bag have a bottom and a sleeve?
I ask because I have the big agnes mystic 15 degree bag and it has a sleeve to put the pad in. The bag itself does not have any insulation on the bottom with the idea being that...
Yes helinox cots work great, but I think it's worth the money savings to look into other companies. Hell Walmart just came out with one that is in their Ozark trail line I think (don't quote me on that I just saw it on the shelf in Walmart) and it's a fraction of the price and not much heavier...
I have the pro 2300 and it works excellent for everything you describe. If you need more room you can simply put stuff in a dry sack and put it in between the bag and the frame. They also have a pro 3200 that is money.

They are currently back ordered on supplies to build the custom insoles. Due to my busy season and me needing boots ASAP Stephen had them sent out so that I could start wearing them immediately. This puts me in a unique situation as I will be able to compare and contrast the normal insoles with...
I hope the above video was helpful I used it a little when I fit my SO. Just from listening to your story, it sounds like you need to move your shoulder harness up just a little which would in a sense lengthen your setup. Once you get the backpack on with the should straps tight, tighten the hip...
My big Agnes is incredible. Just get a good pad. And I think you would be amazed how big the stone is...all I've heard about them is how roomy they are. The Sitka bag is surprisingly roomy too.

You aren't crazy I take my kids all over hell and almost never have a hot tent. I've found what works really well is a double sleeping bag for adults and then have them in their own sleeping bag or blankets on the inside.
When it's warmer, I just put my kids in their own bags and they do...
I haven't had any issues with simply leaving it bloody. It doesn't hurt anything and saves you the time and hassle of washing it.

The custom footbeds are on back order due to materials being hard to get, that is why I don't have them yet. Initial impressions are good even with the regular insoles. I haven't walked much, only 14-20 miles but so far so good. I'll keep you updated.
Just wanted to update the thread. The boots arrived yesterday. They look to have solid construction, are comfortable for the first impression, not overly heavy, not a super stiff sole, and overall all are a good looking boot. For the first hunt in them, I will be taking them on an 8 day elk...
