    NeoAir Xlite VS> Xtherm

I have both. Yes, there is a difference in warmth. Both are great. But, the Xtherm is a true 4 season pad. Never had any issue using the Xlite for its intended 3 season use. But, I wouldn't take it throw it down on the snow in single digit weather like I have the Xtherm.

    Luxe Hiking Gear - BAD

Sorry for the bad experience. Sadly, not surprising givens Luxe's history. Hopefully others will see this thread or one of the many other ones on Rokslide and save some headaches and $$$.

What’s everyone’s favorite lunch when hunting and hiking the mountains?

We do a variation on this. We get up and get hunting first thing. No breakfast/coffee/etc. Then later in the morning we will make some version of breakfast tacos or oatmeal, and always with hot chocolate. Then we may snack on Kind bars, fruit, or trail mix the rest of the day. Then dinner back...

    MBA and your experience

I got my MBA at a top 20 school about 20 years ago. I quit work and did the MBA full time for about 20 months. In may case it was a huge help. I made nearly 4Xwhat I was making before my MBA versus the job I got at graduation. The company even gave me $25K to payoff my second years tuition. And...

3 Season, 2 Person Tent - MSR vs Big Agnes

I've owned several versions of the Copper Spur and several MSR tents, although not the Elixir. If you're going to be backpacking with these tents, I think its an easy choice in favor of the Copper Spur. It weighs at least 2 pounds lighter. Light enough to even work as a solo tent if you...

I got the $, but I'll probably never buy a DCF shelter

Similarly. I traded my BA Fly Creek 2 for a Zpacks Triplex. Wouldn't even think of going back. But, there are lots of great shelters out there, that meet different needs/wants.

    Anyone ever gotten this message?

Yes. I got one in November 2021 and December 2021. After the 11/2021 alert, I changed my Rokslide password. After the 12/2021 incident I changed my Rokslide password and every password to any financial related sites (I.e, bank account, 401K, Paypal, etc.)

    First Trip: Katabatic Quilt

I've had hundreds of nights in my Katabatic Palisade. I love it. I have tried quilts from numerous other manufacturers. And I own quilts from UGQ and EE. They are both very good too. But, the attachment system on the Katabatic quilts is far superior IMO.

    Exo Mountain Gear pack

It depends on your gear. I can easily hunt for a week out of the 3200. I have the 4800 and 6400, but I don't need that much space too often. I do like the horseshoe zipper setup of the 4800. But, still overall prefer the size of the 3200.

Are you guys sick of tipping?

This is 100% true. The European method is far superior. They just add the cost for staff and taxes into the price. What you see is what you pay. And the service is infinitely better with professional wait staff. Slightly related, I was at an Italian restaurant in Paris a couple of years...

What size Power Bank needed and is solar charging any good?

Skip solar. I'm sure that technology will improve. But, its not there yet. I'd go with at least 20 mah for 11 days.

How to maximize quality & comfort?

Also a side sleeper. The Xtherm is my go to when R value is the priority. And I use my Uberlite when weight is the priority. But, I go with my Big Agnes Q-Core SLX when I really want comfort. It is fantastic. The "quilted" baffling (similar to the Ether Lite) is much more comfortable than...

    Best stove/pot combo

I like my Jetboil. But for me, I pretty much only use it at the truck. When I'm backpacking, I will take my 650 Toaks and BRS stove. The 650 will nest a small fuel canister and the BRS stove. Much smaller and lighter than my Jetboil setup. I will sometimes take my Pocket Rocket Deluxe. In...

Tossing and turning off your pad

In my experience, the best way to combat this is making sure your pillow remains in place. I use an Exped pillow that has tabs on either side. I tie some small shock cord to each tab and then attach the pillow to my sleeping pad. When I roll over or move around, I will subconsciously orient...

    Yellowstone/Glacier vacation

I usually go to Yellowstone/Tetons/Jackson a couple of times a year. In fact, I was there this week. The crowds are much lighter than usual. Still a lot of people. But, not nearly as crazy what you'd see in a normal year. Definitely a bummer that Lamar Valley is closed, but still plenty to do...

    Camo vs Solids??

I will hunt in either. My pants are often solid and my tops/jackets are usually camo. I don't mind wearing solids in the woods and don't mind wearing camo around town. For me, functionality is all that matters.
