It’s just for looks. I’ve weighed a few before and after fluting and it usually takes off 0.5oz

My t3 338win mag 24in bbl with 3 rounds in the mag and a vx3 2-8x36 on top weighed 7.2lbs. It would rock you with factory 230eld-x. First shot ever with it off a bi pod ripped out the factory front sling stud.

    Auodad in Texas

They taste good but it’s best to try yourself to know. Their meat is tougher but in a crockpot or made into good dry sausage with pork it’s great. Grilled steaks or chicken fried with younger Audad are better and it helps to marinate and tenderize several days prior to cooking.

Thank you, the TB ultra 5 is my favorite can for hunting, even with the hell fire adapter it’s still only 10oz. I like your build as well that bolt handle looks awesome, really goes well with the bolt fluting.

Interesting they already make 224 Valkyrie ammo with 88s and the case capacity will be almost the same. But I’m all for it.

I have twice on deer with the vmax. I was surprised as well but they were both small does, around 80-90 lbs.

On a t3 223 you can run the 80eldm without modifying the throat or BM if you get a Waters Mag that allows for 2.6 coal. Although with the factory throat the 80eldm touch’s the lands at 2.440” but I can still run them comfortably at 2650fps in a 16” Bbl. I have only shot one deer with them so...

    Ice/snow comparison between rifles

Form, have you ever done any testing regarding tikka triggers and fine dust or sand? I’ve learned that jewell Rem 700 triggers and dust don’t mix. Just curious as I’ve seen windy dusty days shut down bolt rifles at competitions in Texas and Oklahoma. Not just the trigger but lock up the bolt too.

    16" suppressed elk gun

9.5lbs with scope and TB ultra 5, recoil to me is not bad at all. It recoiled more when I used to run 2530fps with rl17 but the h4350 load at 2415 softened things up a bit.

    16" suppressed elk gun

An 18” .308 will work well. A .308 will be more efficient in a shorter barrel simply because in the same length barrel there will be more bore area for the powder to burn due to the larger bore. That’s why a .308win can push a 150gr bullet 300fps faster than a 6.5 creedmoor and a 6.5...
