7prc next to 135 berger at 3.260” Medium vesper is good for 3.4” That should be ideal even with the 145s.
I just ordered a steel Bartlein and they told me 6 months. But the wait for the carbons could be longer.
2900 should be the top node with the 133 and h4350 before it’s starts wrecking brass quickly.
Maybe but I wouldn’t go any shorter than 18” you will be losing a lot of velocity per inch once you get below 22” with a 25-7prc.
N570 runs great in my 25sst and it’s 2gr less h20 capacity than the SAUM. As for a seater die check out the Frankfort Arsenal universal bullet seating die for $80.
To the op a 25-7prc should do 3000 in an 18” easily. If you’re going that short though a 25prc,25sst,25saum will do the same with...
I doubt it will be long before Sierra drops a .25cal bullet that’s a refined version of the ACE bullet. It’s only natural now with berger and Hornady’s versions released.
That would be awesome if UM put in a bulk 120TMK order. They’ve been carrying the ball a lot lately and I appreciate it...
Of course the extra case capacity of the 6UM bridges the gap in recoil though it has a lighter bullet weight.
My example with the 131s is using a .351 bc also. They list a .331 bc but for 2 rifles I’ve had to use a .351 to get everything to line up and talked to others who have had to do the...
For me specifically it does.
9lb rifles/26” bbls
6UM 66gr n570 115gr 3400 21.6 lbs recoil
25sst 61gr n570 131gr 3270 21.2 lbs recoil
2% less recoil I get more barrel life and the 25 shows to have .45moa (almost 2clicks) less wind drift at 1000 yards in a 10mph 3cl wind.
I know you can’t get...
It’s handy, easy to carry, and still very capable out to medium ranges. All braked guns are loud at any barrel length. It’s not like he could shoot it without ear protection if the barrel was longer.
I ordered a forster fl die yesterday when I realized my hornady die had issues. Il use it in the meantime but will probably end up getting a sac, Wilson, or Redding later on. I’m going to try the 52SMK’s next.
Did some shooting quickly at last light this evening. Checked zero on my 223Rem &...
I like mine a lot so far. Very smooth action and light bolt lift after the FP has been released. Runs Aw,ai, and plastic p mags flawlessly so far. The 6 creed has been accurate, haven't done a lot of shooting with the 6.5creed yet. A lot more than I expected from an $1800 rifle.
Anyone know the...
I have some 77s I need to try also.
Yes thats with 35.5gr of varget at 3250 and a flattened primer with Hornady brass. At 38gr I saw 3380fps with an ej mark and some bolt lift.
I’ve seen others run 39gr of varget with lapua brass. But tikka barrels aren’t known to be the fastest either. I’m...
Figured out the issue. As suspected it was the Hornady fl die. Once I switched to a Hornady fl bushing die it fixed my problem and I ran a piece of Hornady brass 8x with the h-1000 load and could have gone more but stopped there. The measurements after sizing brass was identical with both dies...
