Most expensive thing you lost while hunting

I’ve lost several gold tip pro hunter arrows tipped with various broadheads over the years!

    What's your "Happy place"?

Metolius unit with a late archery tag is pretty special, just takes sooooo long to get the dang tag.

    What's your "Happy place"?

I read the title, and was already thinking my elk hunting area before I clicked on the thread! I spend almost 3 weeks backpacking around my happy place unless me and my buddy both tag out each season. A not so happy moment at sunrise in my happy place, with a large fire burning our way.

    Mortgages

If you can afford the down to not pay pmi it could be a good idea. It can be cheap, or very expensive depending on your circumstances. Where I’m at in Oregon, it is VERY hard to beat one particular local credit union on rate AND fees. When trying to figure out who has the best deal on a loan...

    Mortgages

Me and several friends of mine all bought homes in our early 20’s, I’m 44 now. Obviously home prices have outpaced median household incomes since then, so things have changed. For me to get my first home I had to work 60-65 hours per week, and have 3 roommates. One thing I notice on threads...

    Bitcoin

Leading up to the last halving I saw lots of reports/predictions of bitcoin going to $100-$200k by 2025 We’re nearly 30 days past the halving, and bitcoin is down almost 6 percent? Anyone have an idea what the heck is going on?

How Many 300+ Inch Bulls Have You Killed

Wow! This poll has almost 5 times as many answers as I thought it would have when I stated it. I really would have thought the zero 300 inch bulls group would have been in the 80-90 percent range, 1 300 inch bull to be in the 10-20 percent range, and everyone one with over one 300 inch bull...

Family trip to the Oregon coast, Suggestions?

Another hike I like to do is Cascade Head. It’s a pretty steep trail, and I believe 2.5-3 miles to top. The views to the south and the west at different parts of the hike are pretty incredible. It is probably around 45 minutes south of where you plan to stay.

How Many 300+ Inch Bulls Have You Killed

Interesting so far I thought the zero 300+ inch bulls was going to closer to 80 percent, and 1 bull would be around 10 percent.

Family trip to the Oregon coast, Suggestions?

Cape Falcon is a really neat hike with lots of great views. I prefer to start at the south end of the trail. If you hike out 3-3.5 miles you see most of the great views. It’s no too far from Tilamook

Family trip to the Oregon coast, Suggestions?

I rented a boat to crab at Kelly’s Marina last weekend. You can also buy crab, clams and oysters there. They will cook it. We had a great time crabbing and eating seafood there. Pretty fun place to spend part of a day.

How Many 300+ Inch Bulls Have You Killed

It’s always interesting reading threads about people wanting 300 inch plus bulls. From my experiences, and people I know just getting one is a pretty good accomplishment.

Let's Talk Home & Auto Insurance Companies

I had a nightmare experience with Farmers in 2020. In February 2020 a heroin junky in a 3/4 ton truck with no insurance fell asleep driving, and rear ended me at a stop light. He was probably going 40mph. I had a 2 month old Toyota Tacoma. My policy had new car replacement. If your new car gets...

Let's Talk Home & Auto Insurance Companies

I just went through changing companies last year. I was with Farmers for a long time. I got the car insurance renewal for my wife and I, and It had gone way up. I checked on my two home policies, and they had gone up significantly as well. A broker was able to shop around, and get us new...

    How to find meat haulers

From my experience in the different states I have hunted, this is nearly impossible. Typically, they have to be a licensed guide/outfitter to pack meat. They are really busy guiding clients, and or doing drop camps. During the hunting season, it’s really tuff to find one that isn’t too busy...

Success rate by weapon choice as a function of advancing technology

I started archery hunting somewhere around 2004. I don’t think I have seen any technology changes in archery since I started that would lead to any higher success.
