If you think about it the 7-08 was really one of the first short action ultra mags. I've had mine for over 30 years and have been loading for it the entire time. I do use my 7mag when I'm hunting larger out of state critters, but my 7-08 has killed a ton of blacktails and hogs.
If they are truly done raising rates, the market has room to run next year.....with a couple of corrections possible along the way. I still think we are on the eve of a recession...... either big or not. There are just too many signs that things are hitting the wall soon.
Lightly used size 13 pack boots. Still have plenty of life left on them. Rated to -65, they would be perfect for tree stand hunting or ice fishing. I've hiked many miles in them. While riding horseback you do need oversized stirrups. Felt liners in perfect shape. $150 plus shipping...

One of my best friends.... Andre Viljoen. Total pro, has done it all. Actually has his own PH academy. Also has great connections in the wine country, and knows every national park. I've hunted with home 4 times over the years.
Just returned from South Dakota and I'm changing my mind. My Outdoor Edge 3.5" blade knife was quite underwhelming. Didn't hold an edge as long as I thought it should (causing me to use more blades....which is probably the idea?) and not as durable. Won't toss it but going back to using...
I'm always late to the party and I'm glad I was. When people started loving the Havalons, I wasn't convinced. Then Outdoor Edge comes out with the 3.5" replaceable and I'm pretty happy. I have a few custom Damascus and usually have a total of 3 knives in my pack.
Lots of great input here. I've never liked recoil so I put a muzzle brake on my 7mag and solved the issue. Yes, its a bit longer AND louder but it tamed the beast. Also good choices of ammo if you don't reload. If you do, there's so much you can do.
I've loaded for 7mm-08 for years, but...
I have a Browning safari grade that was bought by my uncle in Napa, CA in 1963. Its chambered in .375 H&H and shoots incredibly well. I've shot blacktail, Mulie and elk with it. Also took it to Africa and shot eland, zebra, both wildebeest and others. Love it!
When I was younger my 'savings' went to investments. I started buying stocks in the early 90's. I hit some winners and also bought some turkeys. For the most part US stocks are good. I was not a day trader in any way. Usually made 2-3 trades a year. If you are on the young side buy stocks...
I load for M1A in .308. I read lots of data and IMR 4064 was highly recommended and I had decent success. Now its Varget pushing 150 ballistic tips and its money.
I've been loading 7M for years and have settled on the 160 accubond years ago. Sure, maybe not the perfect choice but all around velocity and accuracy makes me a confident shooter.
Big fan here. Spent my lifetime hunting blacktail deer near the coast in NoCal. Very steep and brushy country. Its also logging country.....well not much anymore. I bought a pair of the lightweight calks on the Pronghorn platform and it was the best boot for the job EVER. It's amazing how...
Kodiak Island many years ago on a deer hunt. We had two encounters, but the closest: we were overlooking a thicket of alders glassing beyond for deer. Suddenly we jumped a medium sized bear out and he ran up on a trail the same level that we were on. I don't think he really knew what we were...
