I have had the same penetration and success with minimags as well as muzzy trocars and IW vented. I am able to shot whatever though with my arrow and bow set up. Love the minimags for blood trails.
PSE omen (2022). 30.5 draw, 70 lb DW. Easton 4mm fmj 250s, new easton system. 545g 287 fps. The...
My wife shot this buck last year. Her first goat and hunt. She was wearing black leggings and a tan top. I was wearing kuhl pants and a silver SG top with a random ball cap. Just keep the wind in your face and the sun out of it. I don't put too much thought in the camo, low profile is more...
For most of central wyo and wyo in general, bivy camping for antelope might not be necessary. Sleep in the truck bed and work the hunt hours. I've seen just as many foothill/rattlers near and in the mountains scouting as I have in the plains. I doubt you will have trouble getting into any goats...
Cool concept, but I can't get behind spending a couple grand on a bicycle. could be handy for upland or turkey hunting way off the trail.
Maybe once I am not physically able to ruck it on public I would consider. The way I hunt I feel a boat would be more beneficial for access.
with current tech and ammo offerings on what 90% of people hunt in the states, no. I've had similar success shooting 6.5prc on large elk as I have my 300 weatherby. I prefer my 300 but it is nice carrying a lighter rifle.
Just the good ol government trying to bend me over and make me want to depend on them.
Honestly though "Everyone wants the cushy, high paying government job but nobody wants to work the 20 hours a week"
Maybe with those 20 hours they should focus on parenting, respect, and mental well being...
Ive used caribou, allen and tag bags. Tag bags take my vote. Only ripped one on a broken shoulder bone on a higher shot. Otherwise, they wash and do great for the last 3 years.
Hauled elk, antelope, deer, you name it.
Sounds like nock pinch and def check the cord that secures it connected to your limb. Over time they will loosen and not allow your flapper to move out of the way in time causing accuracy issues. Otherwise, its been a great rest.
I have shot three (1 buck, 2 does) spot and stalk. I only use them to cover me while moving over make it look like it is going over a hill where I hide to bait them in. Had success like this. FYI this is rolling hill country.
Imo they can sell you whatever line regarding finances, inventory, inflation but a truck should not be priced out to almost a home.
No way heated seats and a butt massager and some emblems take a trim from 50k to 110k.
I decided to keep my 2011 ram until it blows. Used market is not much better.
I have two labs. About a year apart though. It's been great for both of them actually. They have a playmate and imo when bird season rolls around I can cycle them to keep stress and wear and tear down and keep them ready to go.
I will run them both together sometimes but it's great. Plus two...
I have both sx4 and the weatherby. You'll find more cast adjustability with the weatherby. I use the sx4 waterfowling a lot. About every weekend and day I can take off to get out. So it's be put through the ringer here in wyo Temps. Just make sure you clean that sx4 religiously, it can run...
Have some experience with 6.5 prc in the 143 eldx. Shot many antelope that just dropped, deer as well and I shot a cow elk quartering away sharply at 360. She went 10 feet and toppled over. Bullets have never fragmented (never shoulder shot them) and the cow I shot the mushroom was poking out...
Imo a personal happy medium for me and imo, anyone looking to start, is the winchester sx4. Same EXACT guts as a wicked wing and it's been super reliable. By same, I mean how they break down. Been using it in rain, snow, heat and it's great. I waterfowl every weekend and shoot tons of upland...
Wyoming is often overlooked for quality whitetail hunting. Sundance has tons and great public land. Buffalo areas are loaded. They are also scattered on various farms and ag fields throughout the state.
Not gonna be a Nebraska or Iowa buck but it's still fun
Kene is running a great sale right now. Currently I run the non insulated mountain extremes. Fit was and still fantastic right out the box for my feet.
I tend to get somewhat active during my hunts but with glassing and no movement at points in late season hunts, my feet aren't having it with...
