I have never set up a blind like that but it looks good. I feel ya on effort. Friday I am going out and socking in my panel and layout blinds for the year. Well worth the work, as you know.
I am not frugal on one thing and that is decoys and hides. Once you get behind a panel blind or layout the 500$ jacket is useless imo. Depends how and where you are hunting. If you can find a deal I would do it. $500 buys a lot of waterfowl gear starting out though.
I tend to buy earth colors...
I didn't jump too far into the science and articles. For me it was cost and weight. Cheaper to shoot my 6.5prc and it weighs less than my 300 wby. Love both though.
Accurate with both but my wallet likes one better.
I do this every year. Never had an issue with ziplocs taking hot water. Not so much of a weight thing for me, but the space it takes up in the original packaging can be obnoxious. Plus, less waste to deal with.
I have shot iron wills before. For me vanes didn't matter with my set up.
Shot 3 fletch aae 26, 4 fletch aae 23, and 3 fletch blazers all with slight right helical and all the same result as I was tinkering with it. I would check that spine and tune first. Good tune and arrow setup should...
Slightly different in my rifle but I love hornady stuff. 143 eldx out of my 6.5 prc. Shot cows and bulls (elk) and then maybe went 20 yards. Shot a cow at 300 ish yards last year and she went maybe 5 steps and fell over.
Hit em where it counts and itll do the rest.
lol I have the courtesy of not shooting around anyone with a brake for that sole reason. The 4-6 shots I do take every year to verify and then hunt with.
Will be investing in a can for my two rifles.
Binos on tripod about 80 percent of the time. Taken off and angled spotter gets put to use to keep an eye on certain animals while I look for more. I also prefer an angled while standing and viewing my phone scope later in season in the cold
Ive had dogs "quit" on ya. Just a sign that heat is getting to them. Always carry and msr dromlite with me. Get their underside real good and get them in the shade. Better yet if near a river, let them get in and cool off.
I luckily have not had to carry a dog out yet. I tend to run them...
I run the tanglefree panel blind. If you get two you can run it as an aframe or as one long row. They even sell flip tops. Catch them on a sale, they are pretty affordable.
I am able to hunt riverside or in a spot with not enough cover at my back. Not too heavy either
If I am familiar with the area, 3 days before opener and I bring my gear with to start at it during opener.
If unknown I tend to spend quite a bit of time out. Trail cameras are my friend. I tend to figure out where they head in the day, etc.
Sometimes the best scouting for other animals you...
Rolled my strings off my omen on let down. Turned out the 90 let off was pretty violent for that bow. Turned it down to 80 let off and got the strings back on. All was good and this was days before a hunt.
Kind of frustrating when my rule is at July 1st, its ready and dont mess with it.
I have shot about 6 antelope spot and stalk archery. Hardly anyone does it that way in the area I hunt and I tend to have most of the unit to myself.
I prefer to get there well before sunrise in the area I know the animals tend to be. I prefer rolling terrain with some cuts and hills. Allows...
I did mine 5 years ago. Not sure what the procedure was actually called. It was non-invasive as it could be. Took 15 minutes.
Only felt like a rubber band was slapped on the ol balls once or twice. Kinda like a scope. Back in gym in 6 days. Most awkward part was wearing a blue gown sheet and...
Mileage. Every 5k. 4th gen cummins. 90k on the clock. Oil changes are cheaper than parts and I don't trust the trucks gauge. Takes 2 sec to check the dip stick.
I'll be the oddball here lmao 2011 cummins manual. Takes me everywhere. Weight never an issue. Sure it'll get permastuck in a swamp but I live in wyo lol
Acquire the other half of my tanglefree panelblind and sock it in. Probably spend a morning gathering native vegetation at some point.
Might add a few more dozen goose sillouttes. Other than that, ready to roll.
old bison beds and a weathered bison horn. Beds were about the size of large sandtraps at the golf course. I wouldn't have known what it was but my archeology buddy was with me.
I am mixed. If I have time or feel like it sure. My hard and fast rule with antelope is always gut to get it as cool as possible before the truck. Always had great table fare this way.
For late cows, I am spending as little time as possible messing around in the elements lol.
TLDR Depends on...
