Peregrine and Lanner have a fair amount of exterior pockets. Merlin and Belt pockets can add 5 compartments. Lid can add another.
I think in 2022 we will have another add on option as well.
All of our fabrics do well in the rain. The XPAC , is most waterproof, but in Alaska 3 of us had SpectraGrid packs and zippers .. and we had about 40 hours of rain with no issues.
I live just off 550 ... Great scenery .. sometimes weather can close it down or make it sketch. Hardest section is Silverton to Ouray. Its usually easier Dolores to Telluride .. if weather is bad you can do Dolores -> Naturita - Gateway ... or go Monticello - Moab
If there is a lot of snow ...
Most people that use the seam sealer we provide just spread it on with their finger. However, thinning it is lighter and looks better IMO. Basically, mix the Oderless mineral spirits to become become a slurry .. use a small foam brush and paint it on. Use Oderless mineral spirits.
It depends on the type of snow , wet snow it is far less . It also depends on the tent , some collapse easily without being maintained , others do ok but loose space . I’ve been out in up to 18 inches before , and it’s knock a knock it off game every hour or two .
Some tents , like our seek...
Regarding staking - see our deadman video or winter tips video from last year on YouTube
It’s all situationally dependent . Knocking it off is the best best if pitched to the ground . FYI ive seen tunnel tents collapse under snow loads that tipis still stand in albeit with reduced interior...
It is polyester. Dyneema doesn't really do you any benefit there. It is more than strong enough for the purpose. It should take 80 - 90 lbs of tension for the cord to slip in the line loc. The line lock will break at 110 - 120 lbs . Tie outs will fail above that at some point.
We include 2.75 mm sterling rope .
I’d suggest if using line locs to use at least 2.5 to hold proper tension . 3 mm can be too tight depending .
I pitch a little higher in the snow and if there is snow on the ground I sort of kick a little wall

FYI … if you are using the line locs they will hold tension better at 2.5 mm to 2.75mm . I had Lawson make us a special 3mm but we didn’t offer it .
What we provide is 2.75 sterling rope . 2.5 can work but will loose tension at times

No the 4800 will not have the shroud pocket. It should be an option on the 5400. I do not have any photos, but I know I saw in the shop a couple weeks ago when I was going through the custom bags with our team. I know Brian Call has one as well . I know it has been a fairly popular...
Yes
No , they are the same bag, the 5400 is taller and has the build in shroud pocket, which to me is surprisingly useful .
Yes you can use it without side compression. There are people that have Brooks and Lanner pockets combined, several in fact. It will do the job hunting as well. With...
The closest we have is to do a 5400 with the tall side pocket and get a mesh talon or similar.
From a design aspect, I prefer not having all 3 faces with large pockets so compression is simpler and neater. Thus we do not offer any designs that have significant pocketing on all sides. However...
You dont need to drill it to work with the LBO.
Take a segment out, and flip the adjustment holes.
Our adjuster is designed to be flipped to minimize holes
