    Hiking Order with wife/kids?

And lotto tickets... simply asked a question because although it's not a big concern if it were me and my buddies my Mrs. is a big chicken and my "it'll be fine" response didn't assure her. Told her I'd ask a group of people that have experience. It only took until page 2 before the bravado...

    Hiking Order with wife/kids?

Got it! So wife at the front, the pain in the a$$ kid at the back, me and "the good one" in the middle. The more I think about it, the more I agree with this philosophy. Better chance of getting shot in downtown Milwaukee than having a grizz chew on my leg in NW Wyoming.

She can have it. You know why divorce is so expensive..... ? Because it's worth it.

    Hiking Order with wife/kids?

Panic isn't the right way to put it. my wife (whom I love very much) when put under pressure usually just goes blank. Kinda paralysis by analysis. Correct about the poop, will also be very slippery for the bear to run after them on :). Appreciate everyone's input so far.

Crispi boots with wider toe box

I've got the Guides and the Nevada's. Both fit my wide (like EE +) foot well.

    Hiking Order with wife/kids?

Gonna probably sound like a simpleton for asking, but here goes. Will be doing some hiking with my wife and kids (11 & 13 yo girls) in grizzly country, I'll have a 10mm and the Mrs will have spray. She is inexperienced in bear country and would probably panic. My daughters are young and...

I'm gonna be lurking here, so please let us know how it turns out. Just ordered up some 168 grain TTSX bullets to try but was planning on using RL17 as powder.

    Ammo

I've got an x-bolt in 300wsm. My gun really likes the 200 grain ELD-X. Killed a nice mule deer last year at about 350 yards.

Same experience at Shooter264. Handed them the form, they verified the serial # on the gun, and I was on my way.

    Upcoming Yellowstone Family Trip

that's a heck of a list., thank you for the intel. have 2 girls, 11 and 13. They're at the age where I feel like I'm "losing some influence". Guess that may be why I've pushed for this particular vacation this summer.

Think we planned on spending a day or two around Mt. Rushmore on the way back home, but if you've got something better to do I'd be open to suggestions.

    Upcoming Yellowstone Family Trip

Definitely have a place booked, think it was the Canyon Lodge & Cabins? Will definitely keep eyes on the road conditions. At this point our plan is to just hit the high points and if there's things we want a better look set it up as a "more time next year" plan.

    Upcoming Yellowstone Family Trip

Know there's some info on the site regarding the park but just wanted to make sure there isn't any unforeseen (recent) issues that are going to be issues that anyone knows about aren't "common knowledge" on the internet. We're planning on getting there right away in June once the kids are out...

    Decided-WT *guided* hunt/outfitter suggestions, please

Yep, this too. Was in north central Nebraska last December for a muzzleloader season and it was lousy with deer. Again, no outfitter recommendations though... sorry.

    Decided-WT *guided* hunt/outfitter suggestions, please

Being from WI it's difficult to say, but Kansas or Illinois are pretty cool with lots of deer. Don't know any outfitters but an 8 point in either should be simple. Plus I'd wager that shooting does would be appreciated and in my opinion there's no better eating than 1.5 yo midwestern doe.

    Stretching program?

Typically will stretch post resistance training to help with soreness but nothing I'd call a "routine". The thing that I've done is a mobility routine prior to lifting. Plug in "DeFranco Agile 8" to the internet and it should pop up. It's seemed to make my sock installs have less strain and...
