Forums are funny, broaden where you get feedback from is my only advice. Tikkas are great rifles, but Rokslide quite obviously has an unhealthy obsession with them. On another forum you might find Bergara's viewed the same way Tikkas are here and a bunch of great results from them shot long and...
My 22gt didn't start blowing up bullets until the 500sih round mark, and it's still less than 10% of the shots. If you look at people who are shooting matches with these, 100-200 rounds a weekend, it's a common topic to hear about.
There's nothing horrible about the 22gt or special about the...
Anything you can do to help the jacket stay in place will be a plus with the 22GT.
Tons of variables, but in general over 300,000 RPM is not desirable for bullets. RPM is a factor of velocity and barrel twist. Stability is mainly velocity, twist, altitude (environmentals). So you have to twist...
There's a FB group with a crap ton on info on the 22GT, I'd go look around there.
If you go with a 22 be absolutely sure you get a .219 bore barrel, not the tighter .218. And I'd also go with as slow a twist that will still get you the SG to stabilize the bullets you want to run.
FWIW I just...
Pure ******* ignorance yet again. And proof that shooting a lot doesn’t really make you an expert in anything. I’d put you as juuuuust less of a charlatan than Cortina. He probably shoots as much as you do, but actually puts his name out there and has skins on the wall. He’s built his entire...
No questions from me. I can see what they are/do, have given the podcast a few chances. I said my piece... they are clearly a marketing company first and foremost. Wouldn't even be on my list for a rifle class.
Hope you had a good time and enjoy your cool kids club badge!
I tend to agree with others that the vectronix seems like it may be too busy for dedicated hunting use. I’ll absolutely be picking some up for competitions though.
Seeing the Revic display I thing I would be hard pressed to pic them over the sig 10k gen 2s. The info that sig puts on screen is...
I read through, and searched through some of this thread, but this may have been discussed already. If you had to pick 1 bullet in a 6 CM for Elk this season, shots 100-400 yards, what bullet?
I already have a lights out load with 109 LRHT
Would I gain anything switching to:
108 ELDM
103 ELDX...
Again I can't speak to the S2H stuff, S2H is a marketing company. That's clearly their goal, and I would never take a rifle/hunting course from a marketing company.
Rifles Only, Modern Day Sniper, Colorado Precision Rifle, are all three well respected classes that sound like they will much...
You absolutely don't want anything bigger than a 6.5CM.
I also kinda question those Sig courses. I have no direct experience with them, but few things I've read here and there make them seems a little like a crock. So all three courses combined are 48hrs of instruction and ~$2250?? That's too...
Can someone describe or post a picture of what the display readout looks like in these binos? Specifically the windage?
In the photo above it's obviously 1135 yards away and is 9.4 the come up in mils? does it alternate between elevation and windage in that spot of the display?
He absolutely had some "influence" about his take on sky loading, backed off the norm to say that if you were checking dope or turrets you didn't have to open bolt.
His chamber flag rule was stupid, I have one of the mag block ones that stick up into the open chamber, so two birds one stone...
You really only need to be able to tell coho from kings. It's a little daunting, but the kings in the water in September will all be shakers and probably 12" or less. I was a little concerned my first time, but the black gums are 99% of the time super obvious once you see them next to a coho mouth.
If you have a little bit of ability, rent a skiff or a enclosed boat for yourself and go troll. Knudson Cove has both, or just google Ketchikan DIY boat rentals. If they'll have rods is kinda hit or miss.
There's pretty much 3-4 places to troll for salmon around there. Plenty of people to give...
Location seems like it's always tough with these matches in general. Collin can be a little odd, but I like him well enough. The eye pro last year sucked especially with the conditions. I do agree that it seems like more thought should go into who and where the finale is, but I'm obviously not...
That is Jim's match, and the reason for my question. I have no issue with strict safety measures when dealing with firearms, especially in a match setting, and will do my best to follow whatever rules the MD sets forth. But his definition of sky loading is frankly ridiculous.
I've shot 5 NRLH this year, and it's been a discussion at every match because of Jim, and even more so at the ones that were directly after his. I know all statistics online are made up, but I'd like to see the total number of DQs in the season and the % of those that come from Jim's matches...
