What is awesome about this page. Someone asks for advise with a budget. The Tikka crowd just flat out ignores that budget and make a recommendation for something that is significantly above the budget.
Sure a tikka is a “better” rifle. But so is a Barrett fieldcraft. Or a browning hells...
Yeah. You shouldn’t mix. Its been scientifically proven that animals can distinguish the different patterns and won’t come near you.
But if you got a tikka and swfa it won’t matter. You can shoot those animals from a mile away.
A uncle of mine had a tikka one that had a magazine fall out. Every gun manufacturer will have some issues. The rotary mags have issues. I never loaded mine with 4 rounds. The gen 2 American has replaced three of my gen1s.
I never had a magazine issue with any of my guns. Maybe I’m lucky. That...
I had the super lite that was $990 at that time. My American was $375 out the door. Of course the new gen2 isn’t as cheap.
Tikkas are nice but I’ve yet to find one that shoots better than any of the Americans I own.
Interesting. My American outshoots the tikka I owned and it was $500 less at that time.
Tikka is great rifle but $200 over a budget is kind of out of the budget.
You can bring booze. You can bring guns and ammo. Just do the research on what is needed.
I crossed with 3 cases of beer. I told him I had it. Matanuska brewery flavors and I wanted to drink them over the course of the month I was in Juneau.
I crossed back through Canada with 3 bottles of...
I’d ask about combo package.
Good luck. Hunted the wood tikchik lakes for a few years. Saw plenty of brown bears. Very few moose (I was moose hunting).
Looking at buying a new rifle in 7PRC. I want to keep my budget around $1500.
Looking at the browning speed spr or the bergera mainly. Anyone own either of these rifles? The savage will be the car on barrel one.
I am not really interested in anything else unless it’s light and it’s threaded...
I have a 4 man Seekoutside tipi with carbon poles. Factory seam sealed and a Tigoat liner that should work. I’ve never pitched it. Bought it to use for an emergency shelter and should have bought a 6 man instead.
I can dig it out of storage take pics of everything.
$600 and I’ll cover shipping...
I use the coffee mate sugar free French Vanilla. Not the creamer but the powder. Always have. Always will. I also don’t mind drinking it black and if I opt for the French press attachment with my jet boil that’s the way to go. But the coffee mate is pretty solid.
Sounds right. Great lightweight rifle and if yours shoots as well as mine they are well worth their value. Last one I bought I paid $850 off gunbroker. They stopped making them.
