Also just because a person has a low number doesn’t mean they’re getting a good tag. I know guys who have been like 200 in line and bought a whitetail tag that was still available a week later. I believe you can buy your wife and kids tags either online without logging out or at a vendor. I’ve...
It depends on the tag you want. You login to their website and get placed into a queue. You want a low number, preferably under 1K to get a good tag. I was like 8k last year and still picked up a decent tag for both deer and elk. There are a few tags that the numbers were greatly reduced a while...
I think most covers will work well, I have an old Sitka cover that works well on my 4800. I also use it to sit on when the grounds wet. It doesn't fit super well if the pack it packet full with the collar and lid full but still keeps it dry, with the pack in daymode or full + lid without the...
It's all I had that would work, I know the factory load lifter clips are way harder sitting in my living room. I'll be using it to pack out an elk in a couple weeks and should get a good idea on how they work in somewhat cold weather. I would think the Kifaru ones would be more difficult when...
It works decent, you have to slide it back to rotate it because it’s tapered and if you just spin it it grabs the rubber. I’m not interested in selling it separately.
I’m not sure if I’m the only one or not that hates these long self locking buckles on the newer packs. I just got and ARK and Absaroka pack and in day mode the pack just flopped loose and hung way away from the frame.
I found some new heavy duty quick attach ladder locks on marsupial gears...
Evolution Jekyll is my choice for fixed heads.
However, I use mechanicals for elk and have killed my last 5 bulls with them. Since switching most die within sight and zero have went over 100 yards. In fact I would bet combined they haven’t gone much over 200.
One huge plus on the 4mm stuff is that to make weight all of the components have very long pins which really makes a difference keeping them in place. I’ve had a few issues with bohning hot and cold melt with my recurve but so far none with kimsha.
The only issue I’ve had since switching was...
Best women’s bow I’ve found is the Moxie Angel / Strothers Hope. My wife has has a lot of bows and it’s by far her favorite. Great cam, very efficient yet smooth drawing and the bow is lightweight which is a must IMO. My boys actually both shoot one as well.
The Evolution stuff comes with collars either steel or aluminum. I really love how quick i can build an arrow or swap components with the glue in stuff. No more worrying about loose tips either. I also switched to some ez vanes from Australia which are a one piece design. I can build an arrow...
It depends on the area, how much water is there, what kind of elk you are after, and many other factors. I hate sitting, I put on 170 miles in Sept hunting elk, I passed up a lot of bulls, killed a nice bull ambushing him and could have easily killed many more after my tag was filled. Being...
