    SW Idaho Hunting Partner

After a few years of pretty much hunting solo, I'm kinda over it. Looking to see if anybody wants to meet up this fall. I'm in the middle of my elk season right now but will be chasing deer, ducks, and birds over the next few months. I've got a couple spots for big game but will be working on...

    Ignite

I drop the pink lemonade in a Nalgene and it has plenty of flavor. To me, 16oz of water only would be waayyyy too sweet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Exo gun bearer experience?

I was using my K4 5000 as a daypack with not much stuff and it never seemed to be a problem. I don't cinch down my straps super tight, either. I was surprised at how little it moved around. As long as you have the compression strap even just slightly snug and there's enough room for the...

    Exo gun bearer experience?

I just spent three days with the Exo rifle carrier. All in all it works well. When it is strapped on, the rifle is secure and doesn't seem to move around much at all. There are no extra straps flapping around and I never had it unintentionally detach. But, the fact that you have to take the pack...

    K4 Nalgene Holder

I agree with you. I wish it was just a tiny bit bigger, especially considering it has a bit of stretch on the "neck". It works well but is a little PITA to get it back in. I get why they wanted it tight but I would give up a little security for convenience.

    Tikka T3X 7mm-08 Hornady ELD-X

This is an FYI. I have a T3X 7mm-08 that I've had for ~5 years. I've typically shot the Federal Copper load (ex-Californian) but Federal has, seemingly, got out of the 7mm-08 business. I picked up a couple boxes of Hornady 150gr ELD-X to try. Of the first 5 rounds I tried, I couldn't close the...

    Kodiak Flexbow model

I’ve been wanting to get a canvas tent and have narrowed it down to a 10x14 flex bow. The ease of setup is the biggest draw for me. I can’t decide if I want the deluxe or the VX (with the side windows). What’s the consensus on the two? It will be both a family tent and a later season tent. I...

    New Eddie Bauer pants

Anyone had a chance to check out the new Eddie Bauer Guide Pro 4S pants? Sounds like they are warmer than the guide pro’s and have HIP VENTS! Might be another good cool weather option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Floorless 2 person shelter

If you guys are going to be sharing a tent with gear, I’d have to think that the Eolus and Xmid will be really tight. Something like the Cimarron would be significantly more spacious, albeit with a weight penalty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Birds around SW Idaho

After a fairly long hiatus from bird hunting (thanks to chasing larger 4-legged critters), I’m getting back into upland and waterfowl. I’ve got a young lab that’s progressing pretty well and an 11yo son that’s looking to get out this year. I’ve got a few spots I’ve checked out but going in...

    Quitting Alcohol

I agree with you on the knees part. I’m still sore but it’s from lifting heavy and rucking now. And, the soda stream is awesome. Don’t have spindrift cans or topo Chico bottles around anymore. I always have 2-3 bottles of water pre-chilled in the fridge. Instead of cracking a beer or pouring a...

    Galliprant for dogs with osteoarthritis

We have a 12yo BLF with arthritis that would have trouble putting weight on one of her back legs when she would get up from her bed (especially a after going for a walk). She would hobble around for a few minutes before she limbered up. We tried glucosamine and some Gabapentin but it didn’t...

Bug spray that doesn’t effect gear

Deet is rough on gear, especially synthetic. I used to have clients melt the coating off flylines after applying 100% deet with their hands. Just remember that picaridin and permethrin are not the same. Use picaradin as you would deet. Pretreat clothing/gear with permethrin and let it dry...

    2023 WY Partner- 6ish PP

The updated draft regulations just came out. It’s looking bleak in some area and “not so bad” in others. I might be shuffling a couple things around but general plan hasn’t changed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are we alone in the universe

Are we the only life in the universe? Not a chance. Just based on statistical probabilities, we are one of several. Will we ever find other life? Also, not a chance. Again, this is based on statistical probabilities. The amount of time that we’ve been transmitting and listening for other life...
