I think if you're counting over the last couple years it's 1-3 If you'd have done the same surveying 2015 it would probably have been 4-7. I think some general units can still produce the 4-7% but it's probably not the norm across the west.
From what I understand that can be a very different situation. In some of these desert areas it sounds like a bucks core area might be many miles large. Mountain bucks will typically have a core area that's less than 1 mi. More often it seems like it's half mile by 1 mi rectangular. In that case...
Almost forgot about this one.
Spotted him at 900 yards and the only move was to cross a big opening straight above him on the same finger ridge. He spotted me somewhere between 700 and 570 yards. It took me half an hour to find him hiding behind brush staring directly at me. He only moved 30...
I hit this buck opening day of season but the bullet drifted and barely clipped the front of his brisket. I killed him the next day a couple hundred yards away in thick timber.
If deer will tolerate getting shot at, bumped at close range and multiple hunters crossing the same hillside but...
@RockAndSage
I hunted this buck opening day 2 years ago. 3 hunters walked along the ridge he was standing on right at first light 200 yd away from him. He took off. I decided to wait a week later into season and go in the middle of the week. There was 13 trucks at the trailhead within a mile of...
This buck got shot at opening day by another hunter. I bumped him the next day at 50 yards maybe half mile away from where he got shot at. Had to go home for the next day and watch kids. 4th day of season I killed him 400 yards away from where I bumped him 2 days earlier.
Lab aged 8 year old buck
@RockAndSage Not necessarily move but become more alert and may shift to different cover. I think it takes a lot more than most people claim to get a buck to actually leave an area.
Depends a lot on how pressured the deer are in that area. If you're on the Wasatch front and they see you at all it's a problem if you're in Central Idaho and you're 700 yd away they don't seem to care at all. I've seen some deer and these are large deer watch people walk 150 yards away from a...
The owner lives about a mile away from me. Nice guy. He's been using it for longer than he's been selling it and his old mounts still look great. If your close to Nampa Idaho you can pick it up in person and save shipping.
I haven't looked at it but I wouldn't be surprised. It felt a little bit different but still tracks and functions right. The feeling different might have been in my head after watching it bounce violently though.
Yes! I had cardboard under my shooting mat but it was still way too hard. I totally agree on the confidence component. I think it's very valuable to know that your gear is trust worthy.
These are totally brand new in package. Bought these to keep in my side by side but I always end up taking my big set anyways.
Will include accessory binocular case that I purchased separately.

The first time I did nine drops was violent. I didn't realize I was on top of a rock pile. Ended up moving it over. It didn't show up very good on the video though. I cringed hard.
