If you are getting any hip rubbing I have found that tucking in my shirt helps. The rubbing is almost always caused by wearing a belt or even pants with a thick waistband. By tucking in the shirt it just gives a layer of padding between that and your skin.

I'll get some more posted up later this week for you guys. I was out of town all last week on a vacation with my wife. Back at it and have another version of the 2200 being sewn up as we speak.

Glad you guys are all enjoying the K4. It’s exceptionally rewarding to hear about and see after so many years working on it. You never know how a product will be received so to have so much positive feedback has been awesome to see. Steve

Yes, basically identical to the current 1800 in that regard.

The smaller bag is getting close, a few more tweaks and I'll have the design finalized. Coming in right around 2200 ci. I've always wanted a built in lid on the 1800 so I stretched out the main horseshoe zipper to come over the top of the bag and that allowed room to do a built in pocket...

Echo what Dioni said, Prana's have been fantastic and outside of that a makeshift paracord belt is your best option. I did build and test a belt last year that was just very thin 3/4" webbing with a ladder lock sewn to one end. It worked pretty well.

There isn't a break in period to it but there is a technique that works very well. I'll get a video posted up here later this week on it. Essentially you hold the Nalgene by the very bottom of it, reach back to find the holster and then put it in there at a slight angle. If you are just...

    Exo Mountain K4?

Glad you noticed that, it's something I forgot to discuss in the fitting video and I'll make sure to cover it in future videos we have planned. You can really lock down the frame to your back by snugging up the harness and vice versa if with lighter loads it's feeling too rigid just slightly...

Definitely avoid cinching down the shoulder harness too tight, that goes for all the straps associated with the harness (sternum, main straps and load lifters) It's definitely something I see people make a mistake on often. Put all the weight on the hips and then just have the harness "float"...

Yes, definitely want 30-40lbs in there.

100% correct. The shorter the person's torso the lower the harness will be on the frame. Between the 3 trade shows we took K4's to earlier this year and the 1000+ people we put weighted packs on there was maybe 25 people where we had to adjust the harness outside of those middle two slots...

    Exo Mountain K4?

Yeah I was really happy with how that turned out, it makes it incredibly easy to dial in that fit. 90% of guys should fall into the 3rd or 4th adjustment slot up from the bottom and then from there you can just slide that micro adjustment up and down to get it perfect.

Yeah just give it 3-4 good hikes under weight (50+ lbs) and it will start to feel great for you. Also here in the next few weeks I am going to shoot some more in depth fitting tips and tricks videos as well.

I'm sure how each company measures frame height varies, we have always measured the overall height of the frame once installed into the pack and start from the bottom of the lumbar pad. Photo attached for reference. K4 does sit higher on the body than K3 and because under weight any slipping...

    Exo Mountain K4?

I am fully expecting a handful of initial reviews like this and that's why I mentioned in the fitting video that the pack requires some break in. I personally fall into the camp of a brand new K4 feels a little too stiff to me at first. Some guys are going to love how that feels and others...

Exo Mountain Gear K4 Pack Review ***Updated 3/28/23***

I’ll definitely get this done soon. We are all in the warehouse right now prioritizing getting the orders shipped out and as soon as we get caught up it’s on the short list to get done.

Exo Mountain Gear K4 Pack Review ***Updated 3/28/23***

Yes and no. It can be done but requires modifying the frame panel. If you’re willing to take some scissors to the frame sleeves on the fabric upper you can trim them to make room for the shorter frame. I’ll do a video on this in the coming weeks. It’s very easily done.

Exo Mountain Gear K4 Pack Review ***Updated 3/28/23***

Yeah a little goes a long ways on frame height. 1/2” doesn’t sound like much but that can significantly increase head clearance.

Exo Mountain Gear K4 Pack Review ***Updated 3/28/23***

Yeah that’s what I would recommend. If you just wanted to do something less, like 1/2”, I would go from the top but anymore than that I’d do equally top and bottom.

I've used them some in prototyping and they worked ok but I don't find there to be a huge advantage. To me it's pretty simple to thread the webbing through a traditional ladder lock and those almost never fail. The Gatekeeper style can be a lot harder to use in my opinion when you're talking...
