I too experienced an improvement going from 29.5 to 29, but will also echo @Holocene that there are other factors to consider. To add a few: D-loop length, what type of release you use, how you hold the release, etc.
I use Otto's primarily turkey hunting and can pretty easily tell direction. If I am setup for a while waiting on a bird I honestly forget they're in my ears. I did get the comply foam plugs on amazon which I think make them more comfortable. High wind and walking through leaves can sound...
Otto Noizebarriers work well enough for me, at least in hunting applications. Always double up at the range. I probably have not been exposed to as many unprotected shots as most, but I have been completely shell shocked a few times. Not worth it to me.
I see rifles taped all the time, never thought to do it with a shotgun. Although the only time it would have saved me was while turkey hunting, slipped in a swamp and buried 6" of mud in my 20ga barrel.
Another thumbs up for the renegades. Think I said this on another thread but mine have been great from the Montana mountains to the south Florida swamps and everywhere in between.
You could lump me into the group of hunters that got serious about hunting and has hunted Montana/south Florida the last few years because of the influencers. Guilty as charged, I guess. What I can say is that myself, as well as everyone I know who has been #influenced, have now come to the...
Have thought a lot about this. In theory, bringing manufacturing back will unquestionably increase prices, but it will also require increased wages. It could be argued that that the increased prices will be offset by those increased wages, which if it actually happened, could be seen as a net...
I'll defend the Otto's here, I love them but did have to upgrade the foam insert because I apparently have a tiny ear canal. Custom's are of course the way to go if you are willing or able to afford them.
I switch between banded plugs and Otto Noizebarriers. Both work fine depending on the situation. I have never elk hunted with the Otto's but I wear them for turkeys which is not unlike elk hunting. I pop them in any time I hear a gobble or when I am approaching a spot that looks turkey-ish.
