Initial Ascent IA8K - info needed

Comfort edge to the IA pack. I just got my IA pack. Been rucking with it a decent amount. Its very comfortable. I should hade a K4 at the end of the month then I can actually compare while doing some weighted hikes. Ken

A Newbies Positive NRLHunter Experience in Detail

Glad you liked running our hunters rail! Finding the targets is usually the easy part for me. Everything goes to hell after that! I have a terrible time building positions. I lose all my time making a bad unstable position then instead of trying to fix it I just make bad shots.

    “Backfire” hunting challenge fail

I shoot PRS with a 24 lb 6 dasher, and would be very confident to hit a milk jug at 400 yards, especially prone. I would also be confident to do that with any of my hunting rifles. Just to see how well the new 1.2" Ti Pro 5 worked on my 300 Norma, I free recoiled it (only my clothing was...

Pro Muzzle Brakes, The Origin Story

This was our first .990" brake. The wrench flats were a little short which made the brake look a little funky. Our thread relief, and distance to the first port from the banking surface of the back of the brake was too short for standard barrel threads. We were still struggling with getting a...

Kaibab vs Vulture: The Definitive Review

I actually have the Kaibabs Robby did this review with. I don't use them anymore after getting the 12x NL pures. The clarity on them is crazy so instead of having 10's and 15's I just run the 12's. Ken

    J A Outdoors “custom” Tikka!?

Tikkas are great! That being said... see below. We *used* to do a lot of business with Wes at J&A... He was a good reseller of a lot of our rails. After he completely ripped off our 5 most popular rails, and one of the Pro muzzle brakes, we broke ties with him. At some point we're sure he...

Pro Muzzle Brakes, The Origin Story

By this point we had figured out a decent port design, and were testing performance by number of ports and muzzle brake diameter. We still had a flat crown on the end of the brake. This is one of 3 brakes we ever made in .760" OD with 5 ports. With the brake being longer and a small diameter it...

A Newbies Positive NRLHunter Experience in Detail

The NRL hunter matches are awesome. I'm god awful at anything if there's a timer involved but they really show you how to build positions fast. 4 minutes absolutely fly's by. I'll have a booth setup at 4 matches this year, as we are a sponsor and Pro muzzle brakes are the official muzzle brake...

Pro Muzzle Brakes, The Origin Story

Next.... We chose a diameter a little under 1", and angled our ports back 25 degrees. No brake flats, and no cup-shaped ports. This short little 5 port had decent performance but was a pain to machine with no flats.

Pro Muzzle Brakes, The Origin Story

THE SLAB STYLE BRAKE For a short time, we dabbled in "slab style" muzzle brakes. While looking cool, the functionality of the brake wasn't as good as we had hoped. The massive flats limited the port height and made the piece of titanium we needed to start with very large. The performance from...

Pro Muzzle Brakes, The Origin Story

This was the first try at angled ports. With no flats and very small ports, the performance vs weight we were hoping for wasn't there. The port size also made the machining a challenge. We were making these complete on a CNC mill and surfacing the crown of the brake also.

    SRS ARCA UPDATED DESIGNS

We've updated our designs of the Arca+Pic, the SRS 4" arca, and the Arca Mini! After making these for nearly 4 years we decided we could take some time to make improvements! The arca is now thinner and protrudes less from the stock. The Arca+Pic now accommodates bolt spacing up to 3.5", and has...
