What are you looking for in the digiscoped photos?
I often use digiscoped photos in my comparison articles, but not for comparing optical qualities like resolution and contrast of the optic. The phone camera and computational photography components just add too many variables to provide an even...

I received the new Kowa 66A Prominar spotting scope with a couple of extra goodies to look at for a few weeks.
I already have the Prominar 883 with 25-60WA eyepiece for comparison. What kind of information are you looking for about this...
I would put them as similar to fleece. I would say a touch warmer than the thin grid fleece pants I normally use as a mid layer.
They have a thin fleece lining, but the exterior face fabric also increases the thermal value.
They do seem to breathe better than traditional soft shell pants as well.
Distortion and lack of acuity (softening) aren’t the same thing.
There is no particular advantage to edge softness, even while panning. Many designs incorporate distortion (pincushion distortion) to avoid the globe effect or “rolling ball” while panning.
I often recommend the Raptor to people on tight budgets. The simple Porro prism design gives more optical performance vs. roof prisms at the lowest price point.
There just haven’t been any decent performing roofs available at this price point … but the Triumph seems like it is changing that…
I get a lot of time with binoculars that literally cost thousands of dollars. Unsurprisingly, they are usually pretty great.
But not every hunter can afford those, and still go hunting. So it begs the question:
What kind of binocular can a single $100 bill get you?
Well, Vortex announced the...
For 400 and in, I really like the 130 TTSX in 270 Win.
I have found the TTSX easier to get to shoot than the LRX in a number of different calibers. I generally seat them to the first groove and choose a powder to push them fast.
Embarrassingly, I’ve actually had more than one bad situation, due to my less-than-perfect risk assessment skills when I was younger.
Obviously I would prefer to just attach p-cord and lower the pack, but sometimes poor planning leads to quick decisions on self-preservation!
This isn’t really an accurate description of what the OP asked. He asked about the cartridge AND limits to effective range while hunting elk.
Most of the comments gave advice on both topics.
