    Building 223 kimber mountain ascent

That’s a good idea too, but I really am not a fan of the rubber coated stock. The OP might like that though being he is asking about the MA.

    Building 223 kimber mountain ascent

They have never produced a Mountain ascent in 223. The Montana was the closest they made. It took me many years to find a 223 Montana. I wanted to find one to build a 6x45. I happened to find one in the classifieds and was able to build it just like had hoped. They are hard to find, but not...

    Go to EDC?

I’ve become accustomed to carrying a multi-tool over a knife for real EDC. I’m an HVAC tech and it is much more useful day to day. That said, I haven’t left my house without my Surefire in over 15 years, that’s the real EDC!

Why is the .270 Winchester so under loaded?

That’s the real question. Every rifle is different and mine happens to be throated quite long. The ability to seat bullets much longer essentially creates more powder capacity in the case. Some of my brass is on the 6th firing and I haven’t lost a primer pocket of had to FL size yet. I know it...

Why is the .270 Winchester so under loaded?

My 25” 8 twist .270 Win gets 3200fps with 150 SST and 3050 with the 165 ABLR. Neither of the loads are max.

Sold Custom Kimber Montana, Carbon Six, .270 Win 1:8

Shoots really good out to 400 yards with the 165 ABLR and Magpro. Might even get tighter with different seating depths and more rounds down the barrel. For now I’m leaving it alone for a new owner.

Sold Custom Kimber Montana, Carbon Six, .270 Win 1:8

The forend was opened up with a ball mill. This cuts through the carbon/kevlar shell and exposes the foam. Parts of the carbon are actually removed and placed lower in the foam. Then the carbon pieces were glassed back into place under the new barrel creating a new larger barrel channel. The...

Sold Custom Kimber Montana, Carbon Six, .270 Win 1:8

What can I say, I like being different. The 270 has become one of my favorites with the 165 ABLR at 2900-3000 fps. I’m afraid to start load workup on this one because I might not want to sell it.
