    Africa Safari Recommendation

Thanks for the lead, but us going to one place and the other family going somewhere else is not what I asked for

    Mexico sheep question

Does GSCO and WSF recognize HF desert rams for a slam? If not, why would anyone want to go on one? If yes, then the Grand Slam now seems much less impressive OP says 3/4 are fenced......

    Africa Safari Recommendation

Got another family we like to travel with that wants to do a photo safari, but I am going to hunt if I go to Africa. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place that caters to both?

Going for another hunt: Stone or repeat Dall?

What outfitter/concession in BC was this?

    Yukon Sheep Hunt Recommendations

Can you expound on this at all? They are apparently booked for the next 2 years......if any of these 2023 and 2024 clients are on rokslide, I'm sure they would want to know about this, as well as people like myself shopping for a future fannin hunt

    Taxes for NR Landowners

Who all owns land in a western state they don't live in, and can speak to the annual county taxes? Specifically looking at MT, WY, and ID I know in the southeast, you can get a significantly reduced tax rate by enrolling in renewable10 year conservation agreements (NOT to be confused with a...

Household income/age at time of first guided sheep hunt

Any time a thread says "guided", it's like moths to a flame with the DIY guys and humble bragging. They circle for awhile, resisting, but eventually surrender to their urges

Household income/age at time of first guided sheep hunt

If you want to get into people's finances, Net worth is probably a better metric. Household income is only 1 input to the equation of someone's financial stability/wealth/ability to afford $30K-70K vacations/hunts.

    Stone sheep beware

Sounds like a cluster F. Is this unique to BC? As I understand in the NWT, those concessions are held directly by the outfitters (Gana River, Arctic Red, Ravens Throat, MMO, etc.)

    Stone sheep beware

Doesnt match up with OPs comments. He said he booked with an outfitter who had been there for 20 yrs, but hunted with a different outfitter because two new outfitters came in over the span of 3 years. Tuchodi says they have been there since 2005, so that doesn't track with the above: I also...

    Rich Man's Sport

That's like telling a fat person they need to lose weight. You think the average waiter doesn't realize they are pretty far down on the food chain? They are literally bringing you things they ask for. You are the type of classless person that makes waiting such a hard job. There are a couple of...

    Stone sheep beware

"owner has had three outfitters operate concession in three years and at least two of those have chose to separate themselves from the owner" Then you say, you booked with the outfitter who had been running it for 20 years. So if you booked with outfitter "20", then you didn't hunt with them...

    Rich Man's Sport

I know plenty of people who kept land in the family after not just 2 generations. Usually a sibling or two has to be bought out, or you can horse trade for other things. Just like anything else, you gotta want it, and make it happen. 7 kids.....yeah that's a sure fire way to make sure it wont...

Talk me out of or into this rifle

Most people I talk to are killing their sheep between 250 and 450 yards, but one guy killed his at 600 last year. Heard of several wounded/lost sheep last year as well with outfitters, both dalls and stones. Talk about nightmare. Buy yourself a new rifle and shoot what you already have as well...

    Lightweight Rifles

At what point is having a light rifle a liability? Is cutting weight on your rifle really the place to be shaving ounces. Yes, you carry your rifle more than you shoot it, but isnt hitting what you are aiming at when you finally do shoot more important than you comfort leading up to that moment?
