    Hunting opportunities in late November/December???

I do that regularly throughout the year! It's good don't get me wrong but there's alot of adventure to be had and I'd like to do at minimum 2 trips a year in New places or for new things!

    Hunting opportunities in late November/December???

Have you hunted the otc plains elk? Is it something where I would have to find landowner permission or are there units/areas where a guy can find success on public?

    Hunting opportunities in late November/December???

Due to my job and limited vacation for 2024 I'm looking for a trip to take between November 26th and December 23rd. I typically go in sept/Oct for deer or elk but that's not in the cards this year. Ill be traveling from ND. Looking for hunting opportunities that I may not have thought of or...

Don't worry you're not alone. I too do a lot of deer watching with a bow in my hand.

I earn mine as I'm sure you do but if I could snap my fingers and make a rutted up mule deer tast like a ribeye I sure would! 😆

I disagree. Meat is a nice bonus but if I was hunting for meat I'd pay a rancher to shoot his fattest steer. And it will be a lot fricken cheaper.

I'm all for people limiting their personal max range to what they can reasonably and consistently shoot. However, I am not for ANY more legislation and control over us. More rules is almost never the answer.

Firearm nihilism - does everything actually just suck?

I found my nirvana in calibers finally. I landed on a 25-284 with 133 bergers. I went through several fazes before I landed here. It's on a tikka action with a 21 inch steel barrel and a 5 inch Suppressor. It's not a magnum but it has speed like a magnum. It's not a big bullet but it's not a...

SWFA website updated; More to come in 2024

I'll just be over here praying for a 3-15 HD model with swappable turrets, floating center cross hair, no tree, zero stop, and a fatter thread in throw lever.

    Minimalist carry of tripod

Strapped to the pack and if I drop the pack for a stalk but still want it, or if I'm not carrying a pack because its a short hike to a glassing knob, I carry it in my hands. A strap would be more work than necessary IMO.

What cartridge? Hard to imagine a 2 moa miss because of gun leveling at 400. What were conditions?

    .25 Cal (Quarter Bore) / Big Game Success - 25 Creed, 25-284, 25-06, 25 PRC, 25 SAUM

Brass life and availability were 2 of several reasons I went with 284 parent case. 6.5-284 brass is plentiful and the sharp case shoulder holds up to reloads well.
