    6mm-284 lets hear it!

You won't regret that 25. It brings a smile to my face when I'm shooting windy conditions with the 6.5 creed and then pull out the 25 for a couple shots. It bucks it so well!

    6mm-284 lets hear it!

25 gives an edge on wind drift and drops a bit more based on a few hypothetical data sets I ran in applied ballistics. For an ultra light set up I can only assume the 6-284 is the way to go to keep the recoil down. For my somewhat "heavier" gun I'm loving the wind advantage of the 25.

    6mm-284 lets hear it!

It's a solid option but the 284 gets me where I need to go without extra recoil and I don't have to fireform

    6mm-284 lets hear it!

I appreciate the input but to be completely honest the velocity gain of the 6UM doesn't matter much to me (or my dad). Just want to be at or above 3000fps out of a short barrel with 108 sized bullets. The creed almost gets us where we want to be but at 18" it will inevitably fall short. I'm also...

    6mm-284 lets hear it!

If and when this is what we go with I'll post an update on what kind of numbers we are getting with it.

    6mm-284 lets hear it!

This is exactly what I was hoping to hear! How far off am I on my velocity numbers do you figure?

    6mm-284 lets hear it!

Long story short I'm in love with a gun for the 1st time in my life with my 25-284 build! I've been using it religiously for the last year and it's done everything and more that I've asked of it. My fellow hunters are starting to see the light and enjoying the benefits of small calibers going...

    Weird Group Issue: Need suggestions

To piggyback off of this I will add that rifle fitment, along with other details you listed do in fact make a big difference. One very overlooked qwerk is the enormous different in stability going from a sling stud mounted bipod to a picatinny mounted bipod. This gets exaggerated even further...

    Weird Group Issue: Need suggestions

Ignore the first shot. I was zeroing and made an adjustment before shooting the other 9. As you can see I'd be able to pull 3 round groups that are in the same hole and 3 round groups that are .8" apart. 3 round groups can and will lie to you, as do 5. You start getting a good idea at 7, even...

    Weird Group Issue: Need suggestions

This will explain it better than I can.

    Weird Group Issue: Need suggestions

Impossible to make any assumptions based on 3 round groups. Shoot 10 rounds minimum at one point of aim and post up a picture. The 2 touching with 1 outside is more than likely just small sample sizes telling you lies. I'd bet the group should start to round out with more shots fired. For...

    Why 6um/.25-7prc?

Thats what I inferred. Thank you for the clarification!

Which brass and reamer for 25-284?

Used the blackjack reamer with berger 133s and hornady 134s. Both out of lapua brass. Seating depth was as close to optimized as I could ask for.

    Why 6um/.25-7prc?

Can you elaborate on what danger space is? Are we talking maximum amount of error and still impact a 10" circle?

Soooo I’m thinking about .243- few questions

A fast twist 243 tikka with 108 eldms is the combo I'd shoot for. If the gun you fancy does not have a fast twist another frangible bullet in the 90-95 grain realm would by my next choice. All that said, go with the 243 and don't look back. It's one of my personal favorites.
