I am wanting to add to what I currently own for optics to have a well rounded arsenal for different scenarios/styles of hunting.
First off, I'm big on glassing. This is what I have:
-Leica geovid r 10x42
-GPO hd 12.5x50
-Kowa 884 spotter
The GPO's used to be my primary glass but I will not...

If you're in it for a full freezer and that's the primary goal stick to rifles and cow tags or hunt whitetails and pigs. My personal opinion. Take it for what it's worth.
One thing I'd add that seems almost too simple to be true is to do SOMETHING every day. Alot of folks get hung up on overthinking diet and specific exercises when In reality those things will fall into place if you're doing some form of exercise every day. Vary intensity and push yourself. Rest...
Use case will largely factor into it. I love using my kowa 88 but it is big and heavy. On mountain hunts, I find myself wishing I had a 65mm or similar size. For truck use and little amount of hiking on easy terrain, the bigger the better
Nothing about the 7 prc is cool. There, I said it. But I do love that 90 percent of people buying them or building them are never taking them past 1000 where the real difference can be seen over a 7 Rem or measly 284. Oops 😬 don't wanna ruffle feathers lol
I use a kowa 88 and it will do everything you ask of it and then some, the new 66 having the same glass I'm sure would be stellar. The now discontinued 77 is a killer scope as well
Want to trade for hoyt 2 piece carbon quiver
Rest has been used for one hunting season. Not very many shots through it considering I don't practice as much as I should. Mostly gun hunt. Perfect working condition only been mounted on one bow. Got a new bow so I no longer need.
$200 TYD venmo F&F
That all makes perfect sense to me. And yes I'm sure you're going to be ridiculed for that response but that's just how people are at times. I like the no BS approach.
Key words there being measured and 40k rounds. Most folks don't see that many rounds in a lifetime. Out of curiosity, are you accepting a 50 percent probability at 1000 yards and taking that shot knowing you have a near 100 percent hit probability on 2nd round? If so and mark is missed by a bit...
I'm thinking 10 percent chance for the general "long range hunter" population. Dedicated long range shooters, that log rounds in the 1,000s every year if not every month I'm gonna guess the odds would go up substantially to the 50-60 percent mark. I ran numbers on a 7mph gun (very high bc and...
You're tougher than me. I'll be damned if I'm shooting anything larger than a fast 30 cal. Even that wouldn't be by choice. I hope you can find a comfortable way to shoot that beast.
What hunting scenario are you using this gun for? I can't imagine myself having a hunting weight 338 lapua of any sort for any game. Range toy at 17lbs is a different story.
