    I didn't watch the decision but DDP definitely didn't definitively beat SS. That's kind of the bench mark for giving a title to the challenger. Oh well, judges got their say.

    We are snowed in, -17 with a 20mph wind. Shut the heat off to the kids room, told them to pile on the blankets and make me some Jambalaya. They aren't perfect but they are pretty tough, and generally useful. Over 100° and a long way from camp in that picture.

    Decent boots, Keen Targhee, and a set of Cabelas windproof, waterproof, breathable out layers. To be able to cover miles and cover up when the weather turns is critical.

    The Pelican are great but I usually use two smaller single cases, cheap ones at that. Load two scoped rifles, ammo, and bipods in a Pelican and I almost need help to carry it. 🙃

    This is all just gear obsession. Nothing wrong with it but the Ruger and a 10X SWFA will kill anything. Now if you want to pile cash up to have some fancy riflegun do so, but it's completely unnecessary to hunt.

    Nice! Couldn't imagine not having a boat. Honest piece of advice: Go buy a new tongue jack as soon as you can. I spent years moving a boat around that didn't have one and when I found out they cost $30 I felt like an idiot. 🙃
