CPW officially recommends fully limiting NR Archery- OTC Resident
That is exactly what they are doing and it was not any hidden agenda. Archery OTC is crowded, and NR are the huge increase. That is undeniable. By far the # 1 complaint heard about CO. Whether they cut tag #'s and actually decrease pressure is yet to be seen, but this new rule makes it possible. -

I don't see it as a people pleaser at expense of resource decision at all. At the very least it is just a change in how tags are distributed. But provides the ability to thin out a hunting mob that has completely over run the OTC units. -

I do know if I used to have $35 in my pocket and now I only have $25, I have 28% less. -

Because the 10% quota reduction is off the total quota, it reduces the number of actual NR tags by 28.6%. For every 100 quota, NR previously got 35, now we get 25. 10 less tags from 35 is 28.6% reduction. I'm not complaining, only explaining. -

WY NR tag allocation is a dead horse that’s been beaten so often, it’s now fertilizer. CO is the fresh horse for the mob. -

2024 Wyoming elk draw trends General
The special draw is not just for the rich. I drew special and am not rich. It is for people who want better draw odds. Still have to do your homework, because the $ doesn’t always buy you better odds. My special odds were 100, my regular draw odds would have been <10. -
