Ryan,
That's good information to share about compass calibration. I use an optics harness with several magnets in the lid and didn't have issues but I removed the binocular from the tethers while calibrating. It maybe an issue for people who use the Magview phone mounting system with their...
The review is coming along and I've been using the pack almost exclusively since the spring. I can honestly say the pack carries heavy loads quite comfortably; Elk quarters with the bone-in, easily fit the internal load sling with room to spare. I've been hunting like crazy all fall and am...
Yes, the displayed distance is the angle compensated horizontal distance. I have the 2200's as well and have screwed up a few times by not waiting for the compensated range.
The new material is awesome! It is incredibly durable and much more quiet than the Xpac in the Lanner I reviewed a few years back. My gear stays dry in side and I haven't been able to puncture it....even fully loaded with a bear while prying my way through an fresh burn. Tough stuff!
I've been spending a ton of time in this shelter this summer and I am impressed. My review is in the works, but if you are on the fence about ordering one... do it now before the season gets any closer. I haven't found any issues in the rain, bugs, or heat. Its been very versatile in meeting my...
I didn't find it finicky at all at the higher end of the magnification setting. Once it was set at the optimal eye relief, it didn't ever cross my mind again.
It's been going great. I've spent some time in the shelter in wet weather and now it's turning a little more warm and buggy. So far all is normal. Pitching is simple and adjusting for ventilation is quick and easy. There is lots of room and the shelter is really stable in wind with the guy-outs...
The belt and lumbar area have not changed. Although the buckle and straps are different than the ones on the Lanner. They attach to the waist belt with gatekeepers and have a single buckle.

The USGS gage at Billings is currently over it's previous maximum and climbing. The recorded values in the upper end of the Yellowstone basin all smashed the previous recorded peak discharges and I will be really curious to see what the calculated return interval of this event will be. And...
Maybe....but that's what the testing is for. The Silex has a similar ridgeline without any issues and so far the Guardian hasn't shown any signs of it either.
This spring has been extremely busy with gear tests in what has been an extremely wet season. It has been perfect conditions to test the new Seek Outside Kenai 5400 pack built with the new UltraPE 400 fabric. It's a fabric that touts waterproofness, an incredibly high abrasion resistance, and...
This spring I was fortunate enough to have a Seek Outside Guardian sent my way for testing and a review. It arrived in time to use on a few spring bear hunts in what has been an above average wet spring. I own and heavily use a Cimarron and a Silex and am curious how the Guardian will fit into...
Nicely done! That bear is in great shape with a thick layer of fat. You'll have some great eating sausage. Your bear is the exact opposite of the ones we shot this spring. They were all sagging skin and atrophied muscle here. Last fall was rough for them in the food department.
yes sir! I've spending many hours behind them this spring season and will have some solid feedback on them soon. I have another trip scheduled for Idaho next week where many more hours will be spent.

All of those things are getting tested. I was responding to Klejeski with a few quick thoughts between the two optics mentioned. Your questions are the meat between the bread and will be answered in the review.
That's a really tough call. The glass in both scopes are really nice with a slight edge going to the Amplus but the Tmoa reticle of the VX6 is considerably less cluttered. At this point I've used the tree-styled reticles enough that I am used to them, but if a clean sight picture is desired...
I’m not sure. I’d have to look into what is involved and go from there. I really hate dropping optics on purpose…especially if they are on loan. But if it’s something that provides value to the review I’d be open to it. So maybe [emoji848]
